This state of affairs continues whilst you are on the airplane and does not end until you manage to escape the airport after going through strict security checks like a supermax prison... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37771117 It even starts before the airport. I'm getting my Substitute teacher certification here in NJ and had to get fingerprinted today. There were a bunch of people getting printed to fly overseas as part of some TSA prechecheck. On a side note there was a giant sign on the front door stating "Masks required in this facility". I strolled in without one. I was the only person not wearing a mask. The greeter had her mask below her nose and didn't say a word about it. Some fat male Karen did though. I told him I don't wear slave masks and he shut right the fuck up. The rest of my visit was uneventful. The fingerprinter was a smoking hot Latino with soft creamy hands. I think she admired me for not bowing down. That's my feel good story for the day. “To be great is to go on. To go on is to go far. To go far is to return.” "It is never too late to begin again." I have seen it happen, they aren’t taking ANYTHING that could delay going home two hours before closing time. Until you have to deal with these government apparatchiks on a daily basis, you have no idea how rude, arrogant, and condescending they are. |

We came very close to a collision..My mom, who was there to meet us, said it was like the part in Airplane, ' please meet your party at runway 16 , runway 17, 18...haha! I've had nothing but bad shit happen on planes in the short amount of time I've been on them. I won't do it again. And this was a TWA flight, screw Jetblue. |

The plane being on the ground, they HAVE to get you off. And I'll claim a medical emergency, too. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75031641 I'm surprised they didn't duck tape him to a seat, arrest him and slap an $80,000 fine on him for interfering with a flight crew. Remember when stewardesses dressed like hookers in high heels and mini-skirts with lots of cleavage? Now they hate you and treat you like hostages. They made 4 attempts but the pilots decided it was too dangerous so they landed at the Newark Airport in Jersey. Instead of just letting them off in Newark they made them sit on the plane for 7hours so they could takeoff from Newark and Land at JFK like they were supposed to. To be clear Newark is a 1hr and 15min drive from JFK. They wasted an extra 6hours of their time by not just letting them off at Newark. Id be furious and looking to sue them. I hate flying anyway so there's a chance I may have beaten the shit out of a staff member just to get off the plane. Youre flying in a petri dish and they're making you sit in it for an extra 6hours? In the era of covid there's a case here. Take a look at it from another perspective. What if they released something on the plane .... and lets say they wanted to make sure everyone was infected by it. They would make them stay on that plane for a few hours to make sure everyone on that plane was infected. Then release them to spread it. |

In the era of covid there's a case here. Yup, that holding them hostage bit i inexcusable. It's NOT true. They were in Newark for one hour. Then I stand corrected. I suppose what theyre saying is the entire ordeal took 7 hours. I suppose the argument at that point is they shouldnt have attempted 4 landings at an airport that had questionable landing conditions. Perhaps they shouldve just landed at Newark to begin with and informed the passengers they couldn't make it to JFK. Suppose my point is that by the time we landed at Newark I would've been beyond irate and wouldve done anything to get off. You've failed not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR times to land the plane at JFK and now youre telling me I should sit here for an hour - let you take off AGAIN - and make a 5th attempt cause the weather will be nicer? It's an 1hr and 15min drive. I get that it's an inconvenience but the airline screwed this up. However you want to spin it someone somewhere made a big mistake. Either the pilot had business flying the plane or making the initial calls to land or they made an mistake not letting them off at Newark. Altogether though I don't care...this is another wonderful example of why I won't fly ever again. |

This says they were on the ground at Newark for 60 minutes. Quoting: nutmeg “Without proper customs processing available for the flight at Newark, the aircraft remained on the ground for 60 minutes and once the weather cleared departed again for JFK where it safely landed,” ..... [link to nypost.com (secure)] Are they kidding about the not proper customs processing? Newark is an international airport and they have more non domestic flights than jfk so of course they have plenty of customs processing. |
