are the phases of the moon angled differently in different parts of the world?

for example, when the moon is half full, is the line between the shaded part and the lighted part like / or | or \ or — and so on based on what part of the earth you are viewing from?

if it's different in different parts, then the earth is round, if not then its flat. what do you think?

Have they? Why can't the Earth be modelled accurately on a flat map (Do not fold, spindle, or mutilate!) if it was, itself, flat? The map on the "docu" at 1:09:40 is demonstrably wrong: again, because there exist flights between South America and Australia. Likewise there are flights between South Africa and South America. On that "Flat Earth," planes would need to fly *tens of thousands of miles* to accomplish those flights, and would have to travel over land rather than the oceans of a "Globe Earth." You can use a straight edge to see that on the video.

Thus: Is that the "accurate" Flat Earth map, then? Is that the one FE Believers are defending?

My girlfriend and I finally got round to watching this documentary. We were expecting the usual BS, but it was amazing. We are now flat Earthers!

These are your flat earth gurus.....still trying to pretend that sunsets and angles to polaris are due to perspective......that the seasons can be explained by the sun traveling over the tropics at wildly varying speeds.....

All these things are geometrically impossible over a flat surface......and cannot be reconciled with the observed values which have been documented for thousands of years.....

The sun would need to be 178,000 miles away to even come near the horizon.....while simultaneously being overhead at noon in Japan......

The changing size and speed of the sun would be easily documented with a piece of welding glass and a stopwatch from anywhere on earth.....

You wouldn't be able to lock the axis of rotation on your equatorial mount and follow stars in a perfect circle around polaris from any latitude.......

Let alone could you explain the angles to the sun at sunset or the solstices.....without positing that light bends almost 90 degrees to reach your latitude and longitude precisely where they would if you were standing on a spherical surface....


If you still insist the earth is flat....then you must concede that everything we see in the sky is some kind of magical hologram......diabolically engineered to adjust to each viewers unique perspective....with the sole purpose of deceiving every1 into thinking we're standing on the surface of a sphere....

I realize that this simple logic is unappealing to flat earthers......

The way I open my eyes is with questions. The inability of the Believer to answer them does the core idea no good at all.

The maps I've found of Flat Earth are laughably wrong, and easy to disprove thanks to boring old global tourism. No believer has provided the definitive map of Flat Earth where one can measure the distances and find they match reality. Until the Believers can, the core idea is defunct.

Please, prove me wrong. People have said it is easy to provide the "correct" Flat Earth map. But when challenged to do it, they *all* balk. That doesn't bode well for the idea.

Again with the maps. One will be produced at some point. When you looked at a globe model in school for the first time, did you think it was legit?

I'm into cartography. Are you? I've looked at HUNDREDS of maps from ancient times to the latest ones. Guess what? Not all islands are on them. The projections are skewed on all of them. So they are NOT true representations of our world, no arguing with that, all cartographers agree with that.
