Peanuts, too. Didn’t know until recently, but you can grow peanuts as far north as Newfoundland, Canada. |

Are they sweet potatoes, or more like regular potatoes? Don't know. Three years ago I took it to a different "friends" property. Because of leaving the lake house. He told me it died which was hard to believe since I had sweet potatoes at the lake house for years and neglected them and couldn't kill them. So I went over and looked around and found one growing under a row of ligustrum I pulled it out and didn't want to dig up the roots of the scrubs. So I took my slip and regrew it on the party porch. It is one of the few plants that is a summer crop in Florida. It really is beautiful here, unlike what the media portrays. Most visitors are surprised at how nice it is here in most areas. The vast majority of people are very friendly and helpful, even in the more built-up areas. I live just a bit east of where you drove through, and it doesn’t get really built-up until you get close to NYC. Unfortunately, because we have a lot of big cities we have a great many liberals, and the foolish laws and high taxes that they impose on everyone. |

The town had flowers in every lawn and an American flag out front. Though I went to the 1950's it was so cool driving down that street. The other night I was out at sunset watching the coons come around and there were babies, so cute. Fireflies are everywhere, and at dusk it's amazing like there are little alien ships everywhere. Magic. So yeah the bastard raccoons decimated the garden already. Them or the rabbits. Anyway, we had tomatoes and okra and beans and watermelon and they ate everything. I don't think raccoons did it for some reason. I think it was the rabbits. nameruse username nearmuse |
