Bought me a 1959 Ford Galaxie Fairlane 500 to Play with ! | |
ProfessorDweeb User ID: 48829227 United States 06/28/2022 11:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Nice! I have a show quality 64 Galaxie 500. Fun cars. Had body work done on it 29 years ago, garage kept and pampered since. I also have a 1951 Plymouth Cranbrook survivor that I’m keeping as is (only a BIT ratty) and a 1964 Chevy Panel Truck that I am working on… painting the passenger Bed Side today In fact! Quoting: ProfessorDweeb 48829227 What is the drivetrain in the 64? 390 v8, cruise-o-matic. I wish it was a manual though. Also wish it had the bucket seats. Whatever. Rangoon Red with Black Convertible top. Matching Interior. Mag wheels. That sounds nice but I actually prefer a bench seat because then you can pull your baby in next to you LOL Stick shifts and safety belts, bucket seats have all got to go. When we’re driving, in my car car, it makes my baby feel so far. I need you here with me… not way over in a bucket seat. I need you to be HERE with me, not way over in a bucket seat. I like the look of bucket seats and sadly, I have no baby to share a bench seat with. |

Take it to church with you to show off in the parking lot and then Cruise the strip and eventually you'll get some sweet Mama that you want to take home |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83629402 Spotted on FB marketplace, 60 Edsel Starliner 2dr, way out of my range at 17500, but unique. Four fins on the trunk! There's a 60 Edsel wagon up for sale locally. When I was a kid, hillbilly up the road had a 59 Galaxie, 3 on the tree with chains on the rear tires. He used it for off-road excursions, groundhog hunting and such. The ruts on the trails were three feet deep. When he did burnouts on the blacktop, sparks flew twenty feet. Pie pans make great replacement taillight replacements on those, lol. I'm thinking I want an ugly duckling, maybe something with a six cylinder. Three on the tree would be cool, or a Maytag shifter Mopar. What is a Maytag shifter? The Mopars with the pushbutton shifter, my 64 Polara had buttons identical to the washing machines of the day. Also called typewriter drive. I'm in the mid Ohio valley along the Ohio river. |

User ID: 80146778 United States 06/28/2022 07:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The fastest car I ever rode in was a Sunbeam Tiger with a Ford 289. Buried me in the seat and the guy went into second around 50 or 60 and still squealed the tires. The Tiger was the predecessor (sp) to the Cobra I think. Quoting: Endtimewatchman10 I have a friend with one. It's British Racing Green. He has a turbo 302 in it but blew it up. Now it is a turbo LS and runs 9's on small street tires. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ESV Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? It would squeal the tires and was pretty quick. I traded an old international truck for it. It was the first "car" I ever owned. I lost the shifter for it and had to use a big screwdriver lol. |

That had to been fun to ride in with the top down Yes, it worked perfect. Loved to watch it go up and down. Very cool engineering. The Fliptop Ford is as rare as chicken teeth. I had a 61 Ford Galaxy convertible. baby blue with a white top and baby moons on the wheels. it had the 352 auto. Talk about a long car. Had a 59 Mercury Montclair with the 352. You could sit in the front seat and barely put your feet on the dash. and then it had a Continental Kit to make it even longer. The merc was my 1st car. The Ford was 2nd. The one I loved the most was the 3rd and it was a 62 Pontiac two door convertible with 389. This was all in High School. (grad 1965) IIRC $1300 for the Pontiac. I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you. Slake Blake |
