Meyers, right on the water and Ian is bearing down on them directly, the outer whips lashing their homes and boards are flying off as we speak. She stayed because her boss was gonna make them work today, then closed at the last minute so she's stuck. She is alone and scared but in a 3rd floor apartment and has the necessary stuff. Its hard to sit here in Virginia and feel helpless to stop what's coming at her. So far she says, it's just some wind and rain. Not too bad. Or, once going over Cuba it would lose steam, as it usually does. Finally, in my fam's particular case, nowhere to go, not a lot of income, this sort of thing. In my Mom's case, her husband is kind of infirm and hard to drag anywhere... There's a whole senior thing in Florida that kind of limits options. I regret that I didn't pay much attention or take it seriously until 2 days ago, or I would've flown my Mom up here but I'm not sure the logistics of how that would've worked with her husband and his condition(s) anyway.
