I seem to recall that the Constitution isn't specific on what the SC is meant to do and how is is specifically constructed. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1226102Answering my own question it appears that Congress sets the limit and Roosevelt tried to change the law via Congress to appoint another judge for each current judge over 70. |

Of the 30+ questions only 4 were answered more accurately by the politicians. This means on 26+ of the questions the aggragate score of the people taking the quiz was higher than those by whom they are governed. Perhaps a potential politician should be required to take a test like this only far more comprehensive in nature in order to even enter a primary. One chance per election with a required score of 85% or higher in order to enter the primary. |

Quoting: BloomWhen I was in elementary school, in the 50s and 60s, I went to school in Alabama, and Louisiana, in Alabama, I took a class called civics. We learned about the Constitution and how the government worked. Kids don't get that any more. I'm not too sure they ever did out side the deep south. I'm sad to say, where I work I try to educate my coworkers who seem to know nothing of the Constitution. I have a small copy of it on my desk, and it is getting worn out from all the people reading it. They want to learn, but who is teaching? Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. (OP) User ID: 1161728 United States 01/15/2011 08:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I got 23 out of 33 correct.. a 69.something Percent... Quoting: Himie 1177014But I believe there is a lot of bullshitting going on in this thread... after reading many many posts on this site, I find it hard to believe many of you are smarter than me. I noticed the scores on the 3rd page seemed more honest than the first 2 though... Maybe many of us with lower scores didn't report our results, and only the brainy smurfs of the bunch posted theirs, but the site average seems a bit high to me... To that end, all of you who did well, congrads.. some of the questions were a bit tricky. I also don't see what relevance the actions of Franklin Roosevelt did in the 30s has on the issues of today. Other than getting duped by the Federal Reserve, screwing all Americans, and permanently selling us all in to indentured servitude... However, I did notice that wasn't on the test. They might as well have asked What Role the Barbie Doll did for US economic relations in the 50s for all it matters... it has about the same relevance as some o the questions. If you study FDR you will find it is very relevant today. FDR was very popular, but he laid the ground work for a lot of very bad things that have come to fruition in the last 3 decades. He was not the first "big government progressive", but, he took it to a whole new level. If you understand history, you may not have to repeat it. We are just now reaping what FDR sowed. Knowing the history of America is almost as important as knowing the Constitution. Everyone needs to tell their reps in Washington that the Constitution is a literal, not a "dynamic" document. Please don't make us repeat history to learn that. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. "America is at that awkward stage.
