A littly history:

Bernal Diaz was a Jesuit priest who accompanied Cortez and kept a journal. There were several others who documented the Spanish conquest of Mexico. One thing they recorded is the complete destruction by burning of all of the Mayan and Aztec written records. In their own words, there were "mountains" of these scrolls and records burnt. A law was passed that inflicted the death penalty on any native possessing written material or teaching the knowledge. Last I heard, exactly three of these written records survived. Three, out of probably millions of documents. So we have no idea what they knew.

Second, what does OP know about how his world works? Could he make or repair an automobile, generate electricity, build a house? Could he make cement or paint or steel or bronze or glass or cloth, not to mention a CPU or cellphone? I doubt that the OP has the slightest idea how any thing he uses is made. From my understanding, the whole 2012 thing just means a change from one astroligical system to another. (piseas? moving into aquarius) the mayans probably had different names, but originally that was what the 2012 thing was about.
