Discouraged after move to Tampa, Florida. Need creative job.
I was brought here with a higher purpose - but I'm still wanting to learn what that was exactly. All spiritual roads led me here.

I had a pretty great job in my former state FAR out west. But since being here I haven't felt like I'm even on the trail of anything...it took nearly everything I had to get here and now I'm getting beat down by my own desire to succeed, but being aimless about it.

Anyone in the area know of creative work that's available that may/may not be posted somewhere on the interwebz? I have an amazing woman I want to take care of who has a great job, but she's ready to leave and we've been talking about having a baby in the future. I want to make that happen...

I'm literally humbled by the entire experience. I've only been here a week-and-a-half, but it feels like an eternity because I want somewhere to put all of my waning energies.

Please, GLP...find a way to guide me - positively. I'm already in the dumps enough today.

Thanks.

Sorry OP

but can't imagine living anywhere in Florida , really.

Most of it is a major shit hole. If you are not rich enough to live in the really nice areas

the rest is shit.

Why did you move there in the first place??

Go back home or find a nice rural place. Sell your car , ride a bike where you need to go and downsize.

This is what I recommend.

Get the heck out of there. When the 2nd Great Depression hits,

it will be much much worse than the first...look at society!!

Get out of there

there is tons of money in recycling old things. heck, half the population of flarida lives off the land and collects things like cans and bottles, and shopping carts...

ahhhh you sound like an artist. Take a little bit of quiet time.decide where yu could be of service. Creative people find that it always boils down to this.Start volentearing[sp] you never know what comes out of an opportunity to be of service. In your quiet time just come out and ask God what his purpose is for you. Why Tampa? It's like right next to the Red Neck Rivera. You should come on down to Miami, more wildlife, less regulations.

She owns a home outside Tampa and her job is right around the corner. She's done very well for herself.

But I want to do well by her...so she can leave. She's been there 17 years with no retirement plan and will die there. It's not a rescue operation - there's a lot more to it than that. But I do want to give her an opportunity to leave so she can pursue motherhood (and me, fatherhood), but she's also a creative-type and would give the world so much more than being a VP doing mind-numbing work.

I was born and raised in Tampa, Fl. I lived there 50 years and then moved away. Its too bad you moved there. Leave while you still can. You would have been better out west than there. When disaster strikes you will not be able to get out of Florida ...you will be trapped. Don't be seduced by the beaches and the palm trees and year around warm weather. You won't have a future anywhere in Florida.

Sorry to have to tell you that but you had better put all those energies into getting out of there and now is not time to even be thinking about having a baby.

Don't you realize that we are at the precipice of WW3. It ti going to become hell on earth and down hill from here.

You had better think about surviving instead of dreaming.

As far as being in the dumps.......get over it and focus all your attention and energy into packing up and moving out fast.

Better listen to your "amazing woman" who wants to leave. Apparently she is smarter than you are.

Best wishes and best of luck. Now get on the stick, shake a leg and boogie out of Florida.

I don't know what "spirits" your were listening to but they were apparently the wrong ones.

When disaster comes you need to be AT LEAST 2000 feet in elevation. I am above 5000 feet where I am. And you need to be away from any and every coast line.

yyou chose the wrong city. Cleveland Ohio is the greatest city on earth. Move there. Eventually everyone will see this, so get there before it is too late. Cleveland may be great but it will not be able to fit all 7 billion people that will want to live there.

As insulting as you were, I'm still going to address this.

#1 - "When disaster strikes...precipice of WW3": been hearing this my entire life. Especially lately. And while it may/may not be true, that's not an option for us immediately. I'm speaking of IMMEDIATE fixes. Within a year or so we'd love to move out of here...we've already been talking about it. Telling me "it will be too late!" won't help either. Timelines are a twisted reality...haven't you been on GLP enough to figure that out by now? Every bit of doom is right around the corner...but keeps getting pushed to the next meeting.

#2 - I'm a prepper and very survival-minded. Very. I'm prepared in every sense of the word already. But I still need to earn a living and want to build a life with the idea that the world will continue on. I'm not going to live the greater part of my life expecting doom at any moment. I prefer to prepare but still have the optimism in me to believe life will find a way of continuing on...

#3 - You don't need to put quotes around amazing woman. She is amazing. And I'm also intelligent enough to know when someone is being a condescending jerk. I don't know why you had to go that route, especially when I've already indicated being discouraged...'ppreciate ya!

our point is flarida is expensive to live, and, unless you are a boat builder, you're going to do a lousy job at protecting that good lady of yours. if you are here on this site, you have to have some idea of very-near-future events, right? you do know that you are near ground zero for some upcoming nasty shit, don't you? this shit ain't speculation, bro. waaaay too many pieces in place for anyone to shrug it off.

either you want to live, or you want the scenery. but protection, a better life...there... it will not be. imvho

i'm not saying this to get you down, it is because as one of God's creatures, i want the best for you. I was removed by God from poinsietta/davenport and went back home. with hindsight being 20/20, i can see the purpose behind me leaving flarida, and if others saw what i do, they would leave the shores too. great place to visit though.

You are very discerning OP.

I have lived in FL all of my life and I am neither a redneck or stupid. It's a good place. Anywhere is what you make it. One can be happy anywhere.

I will neither run nor be afraid of any WWIII. I am blooming where I am planted. I'll bet most of the people who have made negative comments about this state have never lived here or even visited here.

I hope you find a job that you like. I will keep my ears open for you.

Shalom.

I remember back when I was down in Tampa there were lots of street artists and street performers making it pretty alright, could always give that a go, thats a creative job.

No. This is about the 500th thread ive seen complaining about no jobs.

About 90% of the time the person has already turned their nose up at multiple possibilities because they have some self righteous attitude like a preteen snot nose girl.

The reason you cant find a job is because you are lazy and unwilling to work. The actual job should make no difference.
