Lake Oroville Dam Is Failing -Main Spillway to open soon pg. 79

My theory is that there was a sudden spike in inflows so they delayed releasing the numbers for 12 hours and spread it out as to not cause panic. That's the only thing I can think of.

yes.....this makes sense.

Priority one is to keep the great unwashed masses calm.

Wonder what caused the spike though.

Did they open the spillway in the past two hours? Lake level is dropping dramatically. There is either a HUGE leak in the dam or someone is cooking the books!

Nobody is jumping in here. How do Orotards explain the sudden collapse of inflows during the heat of the day??

Only for those with a fantastic imagination. After all, according to them there shouldn't be a dam there at all seeing as it collapsed and drowned everyone in the area a month or so ago if anything they said had any fact behind it.

My best guess, the order has gone out to fill up the last of the upper dams. Thus the inflow is down. The outflow is constant. Preparations for opening up the spillway.

You may be right, but the upper dams are all at or near full capacity.
