Cipro ruins LIVES!!

Wow! I work in a nursing home and this stuff is given out like candy. That's terrible!

Is this a case of either your susceptible to the side effects or you're not

I am on this now for pneumonia, a 5 day supply.This stuff is potentially lethal, and I am not happy about taking it. The previous antibiotics were not helping me at all.I am limited as to what I can take because of my severe allergies to medicines and other substances. This is almost like a last resort for me. I have been using natural remedies and over the counter meds, but had no choice to go pharma this time,as part of my right lung has collapsed.

I started taking Cipro yesterday, and my daughters will take me to the hospital ER at the first sign of a reaction.
Cipro is more dangerous to people age 60 and up, and I will be 64 later this year. :(

What really sucks is if you inquire of your doctor or veterinarian in the case of pets about natural protocols to take like silver and other supplements instead of what they are pushing and they always tell you that they do no good at all. The treacherous fools! It is all big money interest from big pharma!

Around 2011 I had a really nasty MRSA infection in my leg. After surgery I spent 9 days in the hospital on a Vancamycian and Leviquion cocktail. Not sure about the spelling, but I'm sure most will know what I'm talking about. I've had tennis elbow problems in my right elbow since I was young, but about 5 years after the MRSA incident, about a year ago, I started having really bad tendonitis issues in my entire left arm, shoulder, elbow and wrist. I wonder if that could be related?? I believe I remember them telling me of possible bad side effects, including ruptured tendons, but the MRSA is a nasty bug and my options were very limited. They originally prescribed me a prescription of Zyvox that was $2,500 for 20 pills due to my not having insurance. I told them it would be cheaper to amputate my leg, so I applied for medical assistance and was promptly admitted. I was really close to losing my leg, so I suppose some side effects are a fair trade off.

On the other hand, my son had dangerous and aggressive pneumonia, and Levoquin put him on the road to recovery.

Clindmyacin gave me mine - I think. I took cipro a month or so after that, so I'm not sure. But in researching C-diff, I found that MOST of the people on the forum I went on had been prescribed Clindmyacin, so....not sure which.

I got Cipro for an ear infection and I tripped for 4 days.
My doctor said "well I guess you can't take that now can you".

Its on my allergy list now.

Turns out, EVERYTHING is "more dangerous" to "the elderly" (as they like to call us!). Just be SURE - SURE - SURE that you take a good PRO-biotic at the same time. Lots of yogurt and stuff to keep your gut healthy.

I didn't do that :-( and got majorly sick with the C-diff....

Florastore & Culturelle. C-Diff was so bad, I was taking BOTH at the same time to get it under control (while on and after finishing the anti-biotics).

The microbes in nursing homes are seriously BAD. This might be a place where cipro is often justified. Also, if most of the folks are immobilized anyway, it may nit really matter.

Hate to sound overly dramatic, but that's the only thing that "fixed" me when the Cipro or the Clindimycin did me in (still not sure which one, as I took them one after the other in about 1 month's time).

Back in the olden days, 1960s and 70s Murine ( M [edical] Urine) Ear drops were used for ear infections.

I know it works. I had a severe case of swimmers ear when on vacation at Lake Winnipesaukee. My dad took me to the emergency room, the doctor said "I'm going to put some eardrops in your ear and you will never forget this moment" his exact words, He was correct I never did forgot. The pain was gone instantaneously and was cured of the condition within a couple of days.

One can use your own to administer to a child. This is old folk medicine, sterile and effective.....and it's FREE and abundant.

As one can plainly see there is no big money to be made in using your own medicine so they changed the formula to an ear wax removal product and now administer antibiotics for ear infections.

My dentist gave me Cipro for a teeth cleaning. Pain in my joints started the next day. They say t's irreversible but MSM and urine therapy have provided moderate relief.

Now I clean my own teeth. Sonicare and a dental tool I found at a yard sale does the job.

It was probably the Cipro. Clindimycin is pretty tame in comparison.

I used it without any side effect.

It's not that we know more....it's that We're not invested in big pharma like they are.


I believe almost EVERY DOCTOR own stock in Merck or other big pharma companies that will make them RICH(er?) if that's the stuff they prescribe so YOU keep buying it.

Left me with 'fibromyalgia' after a water infection they gave me cuprous and symptoms were terrible. Pains all over my body mainly my tendons and sharp pins and needles everywhere. Contemplated suicide. What saved me is amitriptylene. If you have the symptoms defo try them to help alleviate the pain

It seems they only corrupt small amounts of these products same with vaccines, so that they cannot be implicated in any wrongdoing. It's a negative Occult practice.

Cipro is great. It killed the gram-negative bacteria (pseudomonas) causing the chronic infection of my prostate. Nothing else worked, except amikacin - which would have had to be administered intravenously in a drip in the hospital, and can cause deafness.
The bug was cultured, and that's how its sensitivity (to what drugs) was determined. Only Ciprofloxacin an Amikacin were effective at the time.
It's a good drug, but because our physiology is NOT IDENTICAL, we react DIFFERENTLY, and some of us can have adverse reaction.
Penicillin sensitivity and possible allergic reaction is STILL common.

I take care of my 67yr old pops. I'm a non licensed pharmacist at this point. Dad had a course few months ago with no reaction I know of. I'm going to start going with pre biotic and silver colo

Took Cipro in hospital, IV drip x 4 days, then 1200 mg/day for 30 more, 12 years ago. That stuff is killing me. Literally. Constant pain, skin problems, brain issues, heart, ankle lock, heart problems, the list goes on and on. When they say the Floxies goes away over time, they don't understand that it can show up again after a serious illness like the viral infection I had in my lungs in 2012. My heart stopped twice during that because of the floxies. "incident."

I simply don't see how I can live even another 10 years with this shit.
