It's not fun. Its really freaking scary when organ/organs go haywire. I'm glad that you have a close family! So glad for your son that he has awesome parents! Keep the faith! Praying for you all!!! Please let us know what we can do in addition to praying. WYSIWYG COVID Va¢¢1nes do hurt people. I’m walking, talking proof of that. Killed a close family member. |

He will also qualify for section 8 housing rental assistance. |

So we got it from the Horse's mouth today. They did a sonogram and ultrasound on his left arm today to make sure he was getting proper blood flow thru there. The reason for that is because that's where the AV fistula port will be installed. That will require surgery and that has been scheduled for December the 12th. Once the Fistula port is installed it cant be used for 6 to 8 weeks, So he will have two ports, one in his arm and the current one in his chest. He will not be going back to work anytime in the near future and hes going to tell his employer that tomorrow. They have been very supportive of his absence for the past 50 days or so. Our next move will be to take him down and apply for SSI. Very emotional time at our home yesterday and today. But God never gives us more than we can digest, and our house trusts the plan. Thank all of you for your support and prayers. BBQ Boy and Family. I’m so sorry!! I’ll be praying, because God answers prayer!!! |

I noticed your BBQ GA chapter and was reading about the EColi and wonder if by chance you're in the Atlanta area? My daughter got so sick a couple years ago at a burrito shop and it was so odd because I ate with her and I didn't. It wasn't the typical food poisoning type deal, so violent and left her weak for a couple weeks. Anyway, just wondering where your son might have picked it up. Thinking of your family.❤ |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78068556 United States 11/16/2019 08:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Did you ask if he had vaped or taken some street drugs? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75685168 Sometimes kidz wont admit it to do s He vapes but no drugs, the doctors would have found that by now. We have a pretty honest Christian relationship with our kids. Hes the baby of the family, and also the sheer amount of tests they have run since his admission would have showed drugs. They have been intensive tests trying to figure this out. Couple weeks ago when he first started feeling sick I directed him to the "Vape" threads that were posted here on GLP. But Doctors have said its nothing to do with that. Its a Thyroid issue they believe. Out of control Thyroid issue that causing the rest of his Organs to go haywire. Have they tested for viruses? That was my first thought with the symptoms he had. Hope he gets better soon. I think they have tested for everything. The culprit seems to be a Hyper Thyroid gland, causing everything else to go haywire, including Kidney function, this is the dangerous part. Been in the ICU since saturday, he peed by himself first time today and filled 3/4 of the bag. Major breakthrough according to the Nurses and Doctors, this means he is not in complete renal failure. But they are still using dialysis to take the strain of his kidneys. We are taking it One day at a time, with Jesus's help. WOW- sorry to see this OP- my nurse pract. caught hypothyroidism in me - i had an infection - pilonidal cyst i'd had for 20 years - well it became reinfected after all this time and stupid biatch wouldn't give me antibiotics and send me to surgeon- went to emergency room they gave to me(dr. just happened to go what i went through in brazil...as a christian ministry dr) anyway- i had gone through 5mos w/nothing done cuz dr.s thought i was just asking for pain meds- the infection had climbed up my back b4 leaking out the old tunnel out top of my butt crack- so i didn't know it was my cyst even though back pain was horrid also read up and can't remember if it was too much fish or not enough causing hypothyroidism too - i'm guessing he didn't get a flu shot due to glp awareness not to, but if he did - could happen his system was overwhelmed- my sis n' law just went to hospital for sickness and they said there's new strain of flu causing people to stay sick longer...they gave her antibiotics too many things affect thyroid like this- toxoplasmosis or cat scratch fever can do this as well- he have a cat? anyway so sorry he needs kidney transplant and dialysis so young- ps the toxoplasmosis i think killed my cat- 16yrs had outdoor cat w/it come in and infect her w/o my knowledge until too late- several months later she got sick started eating herself and died of kidney failure...it develops cysts in cats i read even though they can survive the flu like sickness of it even develop immunity when young- but the cysts i figured got into her kidneys and plugged them causing the failure and her death- just a thought in case doctors didn't think to check... |

Thank all of you for your support and prayers. BBQ Boy and Family. BBQ Boy...man I've been watching this unfold now since it began for you and your family. I haven't really known what to say and don't really know even now as I think I may be like others here, I just feel so helpless and overwhelmed by what you folks are going through. I can't even begin to imagine the anguish and emotional toll this has on you. I will ask this as simply as I know how, other than prayers what do you need from your GLP family? I don't have money myself but I do have time. I'm an old retired fart insurance guy (for the most part) and can do any research you need done regarding insurance or benefits, anything that will relieve some of the stress for you. I know yours and your families energies are directed toward your son as they should be but please, don't forget to take care of each other, including yourself. Please just know you, your family and your son are never far from our thoughts and you are always in our prayers. Ask Alice when she's 10ft tall This is a battle for the future of civilization. Your physicians will need to be involved as well in providing medical records, but SSI will help you with that process. I have helped many patients go through the process, it is a little daunting but don't give up. See the links above. |

May I be able to sift through all I read to find the gems of your kingdom. Lord, I long not for the wisdom that leads to power or fortune but the wisdom that leads to faith and love. Guide my pathway as I thirst for your truths. You need the name of the doctors, dates of all medical visits, name of hospital and clinics and the dates. They will give you an appointment date at the time that you fill everything out.. DO IT ONLINE, have all info stated above in hand before you begin.. date of 1st illness 1st doctor / hospital. date, address of hospital. phone number of hospital 2.... on and on..
