I have actually tried this myself on a sheet of copper in front of a Geologist and he concurred, it is colder in the direct moonlight. This was done with one of those laser like thermometers, but you can do it with a short sleeve shirt stepping from the moonlight to shade, back and forth.

its because the recording device, in this case a cheap digital chip, cannot resolve the extraordinarily low light-level difference between the direct luminosity of the sun, and an extremely thin wisp of cloud passing in front of it.

try this, stand on the shore 30 minutes after sunrise... don't try looking for the earth to curve away on either side, thinking that's what would happen on a sphere. because that would be the effect of being on the side of a cylinder...

better, stare directly into the sun. go ahead, its safe. then take a sheet of tin foil and pass it across your eyes. does it block out the sun?
then take a tightly stretched sheet of saran wrap and pass it in front of your eyes. are you able to see the sun? chances are, you wont even be able to see the sheet of saran wrap.

now, don't be fooled, just because you cant see the saran wrap doesn't mean it passed behind the sun...

it means that the recording device you are using. namely your eyeball/brain doesn't have the bit-depth to detect the infinitesimally small difference between "sun" and "saran wrap + sun".

this is why a cheep digital camera, with poor bit depth is unable to record the difference between the sun, and a thin wisp of water vapor passing in front of it.
