Wondering what position those counties stood Quoting: miabelieves The Business Insider shows Daviess County still out - that is home to Owensboro. The last sizable metro not in yet. The rest of the counties are small in terms of population. And with voter turnout around 30% your talking only a couple thousand votes in some of the remaining counties. I see Daviess in at 100% Bevin Bevin won it by 1,000 votes or so. And that was the 'big' county left in the west. Not much left if any at this point. Its lake country with Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley taking up a lot of the area in that western tip. Not so many people there. What was interesting was that Campbell County in the Cincinnati metro was not in on the BI site. Quoting: Redcat1 To answer the question - its a democratic woman - with another visible political family name in the state. But the absentees are counted ahead of time and reported. Kentucky will have a Democratic governor who will have to work with a heavily Republican state legislature and with Republicans in all the key state offices. And the state has two Republican senators and 5 of 6 representatives are Republican. This was about the incumbent governor's personality - pure and simple. No, it was about almighty dollar, pensions and unions. I have lots of friends of both. They hated Bevin. Odd thing is is Bevin fully funded their pension which was depleted to 17% by Beshear's father Yes, Beshear's father and the Democratic cronies that used to run the state raided the fund and left the teachers and the state work force exposed and to this day threatens the state credit rating. WHAT Bevin was doing was right. But style does count some. And he had a openly combative relationship with the teachers. BTW, as you may know but others may not - Kentucky does NOT have teachers unions except in Louisville. But even without a union rallying them, the teacher had decided they were against Bevin a while back. And that made the total difference tonight. It was RedforEd that came in and cause all of this dissension and put in a ton of money to help them bash Bevin |
