Quoting: Where Eagles Dare To return the shopping cart is an easy, convenient task and one which we all recognize as the correct, appropriate thing to do. To return the shopping cart is objectively right. There are no situations other than dire emergencies in which a person is not able to return their cart. Simultaneously, it is not illegal to abandon your shopping cart. Therefore the shopping cart presents itself as the apex example of whether a person will do what is right without being forced to do it. No one will punish you for not returning the shopping cart, no one will fine you or kill you for not returning the shopping cart, you gain nothing by returning the shopping cart. You must return the shopping cart out of the goodness of your own heart. You must return the shopping cart because it is the right thing to do. Because it is correct. A person who is unable to do this is no better than an animal, an absolute savage who can only be made to do what is right by threatening them with a law and the force that stands behind it. The Shopping Cart is what determines whether a person is a good or bad member of society. |

Quoting: Boaty Whoever wears a mask in public is a frightened little sheep who will blindly agree to be injected with Bill Gates poison and go willingly to fema death camps if told it's for their own good. I bet people's willingness to return their shopping carts is inversely correlated to how much the store has participated in the destruction of the American way of life by helping to install this "new normal." Well let it be said that basically you are full of shit. Good people do the right thing no matter what. Amazing huh? There's an employee who used to collect carts arguing on here that it made his work more enjoyable and less regimented if people didn't return their carts. Perhaps someone that leaves there cart at the back of the parking lot is trying to be a good person, and not help to create the button down, plastic fantastic, regimented, communist, rules everywhere world that makes life not worth living for the free spirits of the world, either on the customer side, or on the employee side. Maybe some people leave their carts because they'd rather help out the employee, give him a chance to take a smoke-break, as opposed to helping out a corporation that has proven itself willing to help violate rights and imposed edicts that were engineered for more statist control freakism. As the statist control freakism gets worse, expect to see more passive aggressive means of protest. Out of order comes chaos. |

What people do with their shopping cart hasn't impacted my life and I have no interest in evaluating people or wanting to control their behavior over something so inconsequential. The problem with your premise, is that to assume that some course of action is right and correct while other courses of action are unright or incorrect... I'd completely false. Morality is a psychological concept not absolute reality. If mortality were something real, then i would ask you to show it to me physically. Show me a photo of morality. Not people acting in a moral manner. Show me actual morality. Can't do, because it only exists in your mind. That being said, then the concept of morality can simply be replaced with a other concept to see if your premise holds water. So- some cultures think that looking other people in the eyes is threatening and unwanted. So they don't do it. To them, the obvious right and correct course of action is to NOT look others in the eyes. But in America, it is considered valuable to the interaction to look others in the eyes. So Americans do that, and in their minds, it is the correct and right course of action. So now we have one concept with 2 different courses of action considered right and correct depending on the value attached to that concept. So your premise doesn't hold water. Incorrect. If there is a God, then there is right and wrong. And there is Truth with a capital T. And there is a God. |
