The Shooting of Rayshard Brooks was Justified...New Video | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 72430464 United States 06/14/2020 09:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If he's asleep in his car in a parking lot and not driving then why arrest him? Why not let him sleep it off? Of if they have to remove him from the lot why not just give him a ride home and tow the car? Why arrest him? Yes, it was stupid for him to have fought with the cops and shoot the taser at him but he seems the cops unnecessarily escalated things. Again...if this was a DUI and he was pulled over while driving I'd be more sympathetic to the cops. But the guy was parked and asleep. Gotta side against the cops on this one which is rare for me but they didn't handle this properly. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74058095 He wasn't asleep in a parking space. He was asleep in the muddle of the drive through lane blocking cars from pulling up to pick up window. he wasn’t asleep. HE WAS ON THE NOD AND PASSED OUT DRUNK. |

Quoting: Fluffy Pancakes Brooks fired the stolen taser at the officer and it's clear as day from surveillance video. Not good for anyone in this country that this happened. But the truth has to be of utmost importance. Yeah, it's NBC, but look....3 minutes: Glad they have that video. Earlier reports say he lost his body cam during the scuffle, and they thought there was no video to prove anything beyond that. I think what's going to happen from here on in, is that a black man will be actually shoot at a cop, the cop returns fire, and blacks will say it's the cop's fault. We're going to lose our police force eventually. No one will want to be a cop. Back in 2000, a relative of mine was killed by a black man during a carjacking. Black man wasn't caught until three months later when a cop asked this man for ID when he looked suspicious. The black man pulled a gun and killed the young cop. Eventually, the black man was caught escaping in a car. The girlfriend told everything. He was given a trial and found guilty. Death row. Would you believe he was given a NEW TRIAL because he said the cop pulled his gun first! Last Edited by nutmeg on 06/14/2020 10:12 AM |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72430464 That's right, the officer should have cuffed him immediately when he realized he was inebriated. He also should have called for immediate backup and white shirts, as they now should in every instance like this, oh and an Ambulance. The one topic this is mostly about isn't even being discussed. Alcohol. I HATE alcohol, I despise it, and this is partly why. Since ancient times it has been the scourge of man-kinds true potential, and certainly in the past 100 years in particular. Now, a lot of the "small businesses" that were "shut down" are all based on selling vanity "artisan booze", only to create this as a result. So sad; not one word spoken, not one discussion on the social damage booze causes. |

User ID: 78913035 Romania 06/14/2020 10:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This really is amazing and insane at the same time. What happened in Atlanta is in noway related with racial issues. It doesn't matter if you're black, white, yellow or orange as long as you drive while inebriated. It's your right to drink but you have to accept the fact that by drinking you aren't allowed to drive by law. By doing these in combination you accept the risk of being caught and arrested by the authorities. So now you're caught drunk and behind the wheel and police officers proceed to arrest you (and rightfully so, as you are now a public danger). And what do you do? You decide to resist arrest, then run away and as you're doing that you're pointing a gun at the police officers. After all this you ask yourself why they're shooting you? I'm sorry but this is just plain stupid. This shooting was completely justified. There is no other way around this. Anyone saying otherwise is just a complete moron. |

You have to remeber, verything that happened after the police got there would not have happened had they not behaved in the manner thye did. There is a legal principal that applies to criminal justice that if a persons actions cause another to commit a crime, the one who did so is guilty of that crime while to one compelled to do against their will is innocent. In other words if you light a guy up with a taser he is going to most like fight if he can, quite vigorously. It is EXTREMELY painful and unpleasant. It all comes down to was the level of force reasonable for a man suspected of falling asleep in line at wendys. Drunk or not thats the complaint they came on. Everything else is a jack up Reasonable level of force? Assaulting a police officer & taking his weapon justicies deadly force. He deseved exactly what he got. |

All we had seen was the cell footage, and I was saying you can't judge it because you can't see what happened. So I went and looked and found this. Quoting: Fluffy Pancakes I am not happy that this happened, but the officer that shot him had every right to do so. As someone said on another thread, this is probably going to be a weekly occurrence for awhile. Not everyone needs to be reminded, but it's good for us to hold our judgement until we have a better overall view. Me, too. In this "Cancel Culture", people are convicting the police before they have had their due process, everything based on one cell phone video. Mayors and Police Chiefs want to fire officers instantly because of bad political optics. In the past (before Obama), officers involved in the death of a suspect or prisoner, were put on administrative duty, pending the results of a full internal investigation. That investigation would be turned over to the Chief for possible disciplinary action, and also the the District Attys office for presentation to the Grand Jury. Usually, the FBI would also conduct their own "violation of civil rights" investigation. The officer would get his due process before he was fired. |

The guy fought them for fricking ever, then fired on them with the weapon he took from the police! Sorry BLM, this instance is justified. The police showed remarkable restraint for many minutes just trying to subdue the guy without using violent means and this is what they get for it. Fired from their job. That's just wrong and any BLM person or person who supports the Mayors actions in calling for the firing is not a Patriot but a pawn of Communist forces in this country. |
