However, I don’t think there’s a clause in the speed law that says “Shall not exceed posted speed, unless everyone else is speeding.” On another note, fight the charge. They might give you a deal to plead to a lesser charge. If it goes to trial, look up the problems with radar on the internet, then use them against the officer. Bad or missing keyboard. Press F1 to continue.... |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76494960 I was on the fucking highway and hundreds, if not thousands of car each day got at least 70-90 in the 55. Literally all the cars go over 55mph. In fact, I wasn’t even initially going 81 but I saw a car tailgating me in the left lane so I sped up so I could merge over and let the car pass. (It was the fucking officer) For fucks sake if you’re in a residential area and the speed limit is 45, you get swerved around and dirty looks from people passing you going 55-65. Richmond, Virginia... Where everyone runs red lights and no one does shit. What a gay fucking experience and officer. Stupid. rules is rules |

You can be obstinate and mouthy and that will get you fined, and even jailed. Or you can be humble and polite and pay court costs plus attend defensive driving school. I suggest the latter. |

I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

Every car has a pair of well used calibrated tuning forks. So it's likely the Officer has demonstrated the calibration of his radar unit on camera at the beginning of his shift. That age old angle isn't much use anymore. Better off with a good lawyer who's a buddy of the Judge. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78133221 United States 08/01/2020 06:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Back long ago, radar detector saved me a trick to jail. Doing over 3 digits in a 35 when it went off. Got down to 69 before he locked me. Pulled over next to him (knew I was busted and he did not have to move) stuffed the detector under the seat, and had license ready at the window. He told me one mph faster and he was taking me for reckless driving. Ended up in a one day traffic course, and paid dearly for insurance for years. Hot rodding days were fun, but expensive. Now, I am in no hurry to go anywhere. |

Isn’t there something that if you don’t go to court - the prosecutor WINS and they can get the maximum fine and punishment That’s how these young prosecutors make a name for themselves I know they are lawyers - but the newly hired prosecutors look like they are 18..... they get some experience and get a better job in 6 months I think you should go or you will suffer the max |
