People involved with carrying out Covid tests in India were giving false test reports, presumably to make the covid situation not look as bad as it was/is?

Sweden's government failed the people of Sweden over Covid. Today Sweden has the highest weekly case rate in Europe despite the promise of herd immunity by last summer. The confidence that Swedes have in their government over Covid continues to drain away.

Except by that definition, you could also say UK was not in a pandemic last summer either.

Incompetence. It’s purposely being spread just by incompetence....

And that alone is bad enough.
 Quoting: CleverCreator

Incompetence, right. But that's not the same as the whole "plandemic" minded people who think it's a deliberate depopulation plandemic and the masterminds are hiding out in their bunkers. It's also brings me back to what I said above and that is that had the US government done what it needed to do, there would have been cries of authoritarianism, etc. And yes, we had the most incompetent person and administration in charge when it hit, too. Yes, it's bad enough, but that doesn't equal deliberate intent, either.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52771426

But on that same note.... if governments don’t close borders.... then that is deliberate intent.

That is beyond incompetence.

Ok, pretend you are in charge. You want to close borders. Tell me how that would work with imports/exports, suspension of all shipping traffic, etc? How does that not nosedive the economy as badly as lockdowns have? It is easy enough to see what is the best course of action, in theory it is, but implementing it is a whole other ballgame. It's easy to call it deliberate, but if you don't start figuring out how the rest of the sytem should function once it is closed, then you aren't any better at solving this nightmare then they are.

“That we have a new India variant that is increasing so rapidly, even during a period when we are still in a pretty strict lockdown and have more than 50% of the UK population with at least one immunisation, is very depressing and suggests that as we come out of lockdown this variant could accelerate even more rapidly,” .... Right, binders. Which the Trump administration threw out for the US. And pretty damn effing hard to follow any of what was in those binders when the entire Republican party, leaders and voters, think the virus is overblown and a hoax! Whose fault is that? Binders are great until they meet real life people, politics and dynamics.

My reasoning is entirely intact. Don't resort to personal insults because you know I am right. 3 branches of government... dominated in 2020 by Republicans. So please. Where were all the rest of the Republicans standing up to that moron? You tell me who they were, and what they said and did to follow the plans in those binders. No one told the moron he was on the wrong path. No one stood up to him. And if the Republican party did believe it all, on a state level, actions also would have been different. Give me a break.

The very fact that Republicans and Democrats make it into this conversation is SLOPPY.

You can think in those terms and that’s why we failed. Not a single person was able to let go of political anger at the levels we needed. Not a single General, Admiral, or Executive Services Member.

Don’t get mad at me for calling out sloppy reasoning. Making a pandemic political is the epitome of failure. And the entire world now gets to enjoy the seeds that it has sowed.

Woooohooo. Biden still had the chance to close borders, halt international travel, and set up containment zones for international trade.... guess what? He hasn’t either. And none of the others are calling for it either.

So every single player is at fault. This is intentional spread.

Heyyyyyy Batter Battter. Swing and a miss.
