define "long covid". at the moment the best we have is it is showing symptons that are related to covid.in other words ,u have issues that persist including breathing and heart problems. those are things a person can feel and the docs can test for.

the reality is as u pointed out "we don't know much".hence my term unicornis still problematic. TH has reported ppl did recover. by that she means they are not showing signs of any illness.nor are they finding more with tests.

however, that does not say the virus is not doing damage internally quietly. since, they do not know,they d not know what to look for. we have no idea of the effects 3 years from infection. those could include brain deterioration, weakening of other organs or muscles, hormonal inbalance, hearing/vision loss,etc. who knows. but things that take time to show an effect might not b blamed on covid but could b caused by it.

He acts like all children have preexisting health conditions. Perhaps, and I don't agree, just jab those with such confirmed conditions. That's if this jab doesn't do more damage to these medically fragile children. Or maybe use alternative methods to treat and protect these children that also have been found to work and may be less harmful to them.

If a child has a reaction to the jab, won't that also cause a disruptions and also contribute to physical/mental health challenges. How about let's strengthen our children physically and mentally to face our very tumultuous future. It would serve them well.

Why doesn't this guy offer solutions of more than one idea instead of a one size fits all recommendation.

Seems to me our children deserve much better than they are currently getting.

The chief doctor of Moscow's main Covid-19 hospital Denis Protsenko said last week that hospital patients were not responding to treatments that were previously effective, indicating that mutated Covid-19 strains were present in the capital

They are reporting here in Memphis that there are 18 known cases with the Delta variant. One of which has received both Pfizer doses. None have traveled internationally and only 5 traveled domestically in the past month. With only about 35% of our local population vaccinated, I am expecting to see restrictions to be reinstated by August if not sooner. I have a feeling we are going to be kicked back to the scenario we had around Christmas 2020.

Its just a gut feeling but tptb here didn't expect Delta until late summer. Its here now and if there are 18 cases, you know its way more. Well, I hope people enjoyed the time we had the past couple of months.

I got a feeling that after this double mutant (Delta) that goes after kids and children, the next few variants will be the much deadly version. This Covid had been going down the age band since beginning of last year, from the oldest people down to kids now.

I'm still hanging around here...just haven't been posting as much...haven't felt particularly social lately...i go out on my 1-2 times a week errands and I see fewer and fewer people wearing masks or taking precautions...just running around fat, dumb, and happy, acting like there is no pandemic. I get it, people want things to return to the normal they knew, but the old normal is gone. The vaccine, while having a limited effect, IS NOT A MAGIC BULLET. It is effective against the OG strain and likely the early variants...The Gamma (Brazilian) and Delta (Indian) and the new Delta Plus, and whatever is next? Not so much. This monster is mutating at an insane rate.

That is not even taking into account the illness and death toll from the vaccine itself...that is a whole other issue. I am not vaccinated. I am also not a Never Vaxxer. I am a No Time Soon Vaxxer. For me to seriously consider getting vaccinated, the vaccine needs to demonstrate a sustained period of safety and efficacy...The vaccines have been out now roughly 6 months and the clock has not started on either of those measures...

The numbers are skyrocketing in Europe, thanks to the Delta variant. Historically, here in the US, we have been 8-10 weeks behind Europe in COVID trends...so, late summer, the chickens will come to roost here...It just hurts my heart to see all these folks marching around with no masks and taking no precautions...having drunk the kool-aid that we are moving out of the pandemic...the truth is, the worst of this is likely yet to come...People are basically just stupid...

Georgia Geoprepper -- I feel the same way. The denial is so strong regarding the variants spreading here, and the delusion so entrenched that the vaccinated are safe. Why people can't see the proverbial writing on the wall is just beyond me.

I got hit with the vax after-effects this past few days. I was fine right after the shot, but after a week started developing the typical symptoms a lot of people have. I hope that is a sign that my immune system is at least reacting to the vaccine in a way that will be protective. I also hope the vax doesn't do more harm than good in the long run ... not just for me, but for everyone.

At this point, we just have to try to survive. I am certainly not returning to anything like a pre-pandemic normal, especially with everyone running around with their freaking faces unmasked.

I was thinking earlier that this is a total slow-burn apolcalypse -- a constant grinding down, with stressors on every front -- medical, financial, ecological, you name it. it won't be pretty when this new reality smacks the majority of Americans in the face.

After 12 months the virus will diverge to Vaccinated people only. Hang in there...do whatever you can to not get jabbed.
