I buy and flip cars, 4wheelers, jet-skis etc. So, I buy in cash a few grand at a time. They had to call manager in to authorize me getting money and they needed to now what it was for. |

Isaiah 40:31 - But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. “They’ve got us surrounded again, the poor bastards.” - U.S. Army Paratrooper at Bastogne |

I think it was around four thousand dollars. They said they didn't have that money and could have it Friday. They said they would have to order the money. They wanted to know what I was going to do with the money. I told them I was buying a car. They even wanted to know what kind of car. I told them a Volvo. I really just wanted the money. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78789985 I thought 5000 was the red flag amount, so you're saying it's even lower, interesting This is training the employees to be ok with snooping all the time i think. i asked one of the managers there once about something, she entered my bank account # and instantly pulled up every transaction on my card so, they already know every purchase you make, probably with cash too, get serious. those radioactive watermarks, those strips in the $100's, they are probably tracable |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83758370 About 4 months ago, my wife got a cheque for 1000 dollars from her friend who lives in california. It was a certified cheque. When my wife went to DEPOSIT the cheque the asked her all kinds of questions about who sent the money to her and what the money was for. To top it off the immediately put the funds on hold for 15 working days before they cleared. 3 weeks for a certified cheque to clear....thats insane!!! I had the same thing happen to me ! I had to wait 12 business days to get the money. Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |

I believe the IRS forces them to. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83763149 The IRS is supposed to report any cash withdrawals of $3,000 or more. There is a limit on money orders, even through the local grocery store's service counter. The limit is $300 a day. Any more than that and they have to report that also. Praise God from Whom all Blessings flow !!! |

He asked me if I was actually the person who wrote the check and wanted to make sure there was no fraudulent activity on my account. There was no way that I was going to tell him what I had bought, but I did confirm that it was an authorized, legitimate transaction. Oh, and the check had already cleared.
