runoff and chemicals are difficult to filter. you are 100% right, they rarely had to contend with this hundreds of yrs ago. hopefully people take measures to add additional filter mediums to a berkey, or look at the berkey as more of a prefilter.

Well, I have a Burkey black filter system. I'm still going to keep using it. It does a fantastic job keeping the sludge junk out of my drinking water. I live out in the middle of a large forest and I have well water here. The Burkey filter doesn't remove calcium.

I checked the Alexapure testing data and it apparently they leave stuff out of the test results that it doesn't remove too, such as calcium.

While calcium is something your body needs, other things such as my sous vide cooker doesn't like it. I use that a lot and thus I go through a lot of CLR keeping it clean.

I did order an Alexapure filter system anyhow, as it's probably no worse than the burkey filters. And I do need a second gravity filter system.

I think though I'll probably buy or build a distillation setup. It's the only way I'm going to get calcium out of the water here. The water contains a lot calcium out here. If there is a filter system that removes calcium, it probably would need frequent filter changes. And a still would work best out here. Lots of free fire wood all over the place.

I had 2 bekey filters and ALL 4 of the elements FAILED! The units glue on the base gives way and water just flows right past the filter. This was complained about for YEARS and berkey did NOTHING! FK THEM! might as well jst drink tap water because with a berkey you are anyway.

Looks like Berkeys are the new target for narrative manipulation and social cancelling campaigns by the enemies of Earth humans.

I really like my Zero water filter.

My well water has very few dissolved solids anyway, but the zero filter comes with a meter to measure dissolved solids and its a very testable situation ... you can test the meter on various liquids and see that the zero water has nothing in it.

I hate the plastic pitchers so I filter it and immediately transfer it to other pitchers, but I'm pretty confident the Zero filter works great.

Washington, D.C. — Today, U.S. Congressman Matt Gaetz (FL-01) sent a letter to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael Regan regarding the agency’s new ruling classifying the gravity-fed mechanical water filters sold by Berkey Water Systems as pesticides.

Rep. Gaetz’s letter highlights the EPA’s unprecedented attempt to put Berkey out of business. Without any administrative process, the EPA used its regulatory authority to classify the company’s gravity-fed mechanical water filters as pesticides under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) due to its incorporation of silver. Under the new classification, Berkey will now be forced to label its products with aggressive warnings. Accordingly, Rep. Gaetz is requesting specific documents be provided to his office that the EPA used to determine its actions.

Shepherd Trust, the brand owner of Berkey Water Systems, filed a lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) seeking to prevent the EPA from classifying Berkey filters as pesticides. Berkey has provided millions of Americans with gravity-fed mechanical water filters over a span of more than 25 years, never causing harm to anyone.

I did all that research on water and making sure it was pure and organic but, you can use my circulatory system for your little experiment, just don't get in the way of my research of this water filter thingy /. How dumb people really are.
