Beeches, so very sorry for your loss. I went through this in 2015. Posters who say it takes time are correct. Still miss my husband terribly but at times I feel him close and that brings comfort. Prayers sent your way, hf

I went with my Mother when Dad passed

I was so glad she wasn’t alone with those sharks

They said the linings came with the caskets - and of course only showed her suitable linings in the most expensive caskets ... nope they could not be changed they said. I SAW them ... easily switchable . The only “reasonably” priced caskets had pink liners and she wouldn’t put Dad in them. I held my ground and asked so many questions - of course they “found”’ a reasonable casket with a more manly grey liner . They are asshats to poor widows

Covid has hit them hard. They want to keep online classes going in the Boxing for Parkinson's program. Rent etc however continues for their physical gym.

WOW, your poor mother... so glad you were with her.

we had pre-paid years back. The money transfers to our new state. There will be no service at the funeral facility due to family having to travel, perhaps at different times.
I want a barbecue picnic is all, maybe one man of God to wish him on his way..... that is all. So they are providing the cremation and assisting with obit placement in our old newspaper, and a tiny one in the newspaper here.

I asked about the wooden container for the ashes... he said Hobby Lobby has the exact same kind of container for 30 dollars that they sell.... for 10 times that amount.
God bless honest people!

The money we aren't spending from the pre-payment amount will be given back to us.

can't stop saying us! that will take a while.

I kind of do, and so it went fine so far.

some people think pre-payment is a racket. I don't agree. they think you don't earn enough on the money you set aside.

I say, if you left that money in my account it might be gone. This way, it is done ahead of time and secured.

Completing our move was a very big deal with a sick husband on dialysis and everything shut down.

yet he made it to the promised land... and loved it here!

Now he is in the Promised Land - just too soon...

The mission of RSB is to empower people with Parkinson’s disease to fight back! Research focusing on the concept of intense “forced” exercise, has begun to suggest that certain kinds of exercise may be neuro-protective, i.e., actually slowing disease progression and improving quality of life. Rock Steady is a non-contact boxing program that involves exercises that target balance, posture, core strength, and flexibility.

My husband and I paid ahead of time for our arrangements, and what a relief it was to have that out of the way when he died. It was funny though, when we were going through the sales pitch, they were trying to sell us a brass urn, very decorative and EXPENSIVE. So, of course we asked what else was available. They came back with what looked like a plastic VCR tape box LITERALLY wrapped in yellow police crime tape! We laughed about that for years - - that's the "container" we eventually chose as the temporary home for our "cremains" (since we're scattering them anyway). Yesterday (the 13th) marked the 17th anniversary of my Husband's passage;

It never totally goes away, but it DOES get better, honey! Love and support to you, and prayers for The Comforter to fold you into his arms.
