I get creeped out around the Dakota in NYC. I've never seen Rosemary's Baby and I'm not an obsessive fan of John Lennon, but that place does not feel right. I was leaving Central Park near the building and the air got quiet and still like not being in New York.

The train station in Salzburg, Austria at midnight in 1988. Something was about to go down.

In my step dads 1800 house. They left me for a night out on on the town when I was a kid. I was never creeped out about the place, it was just old.

So here I am as a 10 year old retard watching teevee alone and all of the cabinets in the kitchen opened up and slammed shut. There was no weather event but my scared tiny butt got the fuck out. I was in the street screaming until neighbors found me. I still don't believe in ghosts at my old ass age but that shit was pure evil whatever it was.

I was not actually a retard at 10. This was all of the cabinet doors in the kitchen opening up and slamming shut. Whatever was in there wanted me out of the house and I complied.

I spent a night in Japans suicide forest.
I had nightmares for a week after and took ages to get the smell of death out my nose.

Maine sea coast. My sister had big beach house on rocks by the water. House was very old. Previous owner said there was a sick room where people often went to die. House was beautiful and in great condition but was always dark inside. At night we would hear someone walking the long hallway from one bedroom to the other. Beautiful area but totally creepy house. They eventually sold it.

I'm from Upstate NY and I've only been in New York City a couple times. But when I see an old 70's movie filmed in NY City I feel connected in a hauntingly nostalgic way.

Even though I grew up in the 80's, most of the cars, furniture, electronics, etc were still from the 70's. The old brick buildings in Upstate NY looked just like the ones in the city too.

Everything seemed brown, beige, olive green and orange back then. It's weird.

Re: Creepiest places you have ever visited?
At my old apartment complex parking lot. I was sitting in my truck after work when I saw a guy walking down the sidewalk all crooked and sideways at 2 a.m

I outweighed him by 50 or 60 pounds. I had two loaded pistols on me, but it didn't matter. I hid in my truck as best I could until he was out of sight.

After a while I ran up the stairs and locked my door 59 times.

Nobody walks like that in any zombie horror movie I've ever seen in over half a century. I was even scared to go outside my apartment the next day.
Yeah I did it, and it can't be undone.

They actually do a lot of this shit to get a rise out of us. Ignore them and sometimes they'll just stop because it's no fun. Or yell at them to cut it out and behave. If they have a real problem, like they're trying to communicate they might get worse, but you'd be surprised how many will just stop if you lay down the law.

Spook bridge near Valdosta GA. An old abandoned bridge full of satanic graffiti out in the middle of nowhere. Made me feel light headed and nauseated when I went on it. Been to "most haunted" places in country and never felt the weirdness I get from this place.

Re: Creepiest places you have ever visited?
There was an old abandoned Hospital that I was hired to provide security for before it was sold. Of course I did the first walk-through overnight by myself, just me and a flashlight.
The sound of my footsteps echoed as I walked down on the hallways with the flickering emergency exit signs casting an eerie red glow as I came upon large locked double doors. I tried to get in, but none of my keys worked. I eventually jimmied crash-bar with my knife and went inside this forbidden wing. There was a large office room, so I went inside to look around and large windows looked down upon a set of 12 or so small glass rooms that only contained beds and a dresser. It looked like a futuristic prison or human zoo. I was like what the heck did they do to these people here? My imagination whirled at the thought of human experiments. The next day I began my investigation, determined to uncover and expose whatever wickedness had transpired here, back in the day. I demanded to know. The Doctor was like, "Oh, that is where we used to do Sleep Study's." I was in my early 20's and had no idea about sleep disorders and that is the point when things got creepy, as he proceeded to then explain to me, each and every type of sleep disorder, and their treatments. He would not shut up, It was horrifying, I was trapped for well over an hour.

Re: Creepiest places you have ever visited?
Just outside Soda Springs, CA. In my mid 20’s I rented a cabin with some friends for 5 days to party and waterski. I’ve been in the woods a lot but for some reason that cabin and the general area creeped the shit out of me. It was modern and beautiful, not something you’d expect to see in a horror movie. Something just felt off on that property, I felt like running in fear when I’d go out to have a smoke, day or night. When we went to Lake Tahoe and Donner, or even a bar, things felt fine.

the Old Slave House (Gallatin Co IL) the first time I went I was young, we went with the Sunday school (our Sunday school took us on all kinds of field trips). As the caretaker lead us on our tour he took us up to the 3rd floor, where he looked at me and said "you hear them don't you"...yes, sure enough I heard them. I've been in creepy places before but that was one of the first and the first time I've heard and felt such suffering

Re: Creepiest places you have ever visited?
Human beings have a fight or flight response to danger. That is a survival mechanism and those who listened to it, then had offspring, while who didn't...died.

Generations upon generations have it, and it works in conjunction to your senses. Is it so far fetched to believe that some as yet undefined senses still persist in some sensitive people?

You feel creeped out because that confers survivability.

I've had sleep paralysis twice that I can remember. It's scary as hell. It feels like a long time but it's not. You can't move but you're awake. There's a feeling of dread around you. I thought I was going to have a heart attack the last time.

Luckily I have lucid dreams nowadays but not as often as I'd like.

The shasta dam area in northern california

We visited many years ago when i was a child

There was this family that was unwashed and had no shoes and talked all crazy, almost like they were all high on drugs, maybe even posessed

I felt bad for the kids because i thought maybe they were neglected or malnourished

We couldnt leave that place fast enough, and i still remember it until this day
