Demons infesting this thread, interesting.

Are you an idiot, illiterate, or just intentionally ignoring Genesis 1, which is the subject?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77853717

Genesis 1 = God's creation

Genesis 2 and everything thereafter = the LORD God's creation A.K.A. Satan's creation

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77853717

Take note that the God of Genesis 1 actually rests in Genesis 2:1-3.

That is an intentional lie.

Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 are two different creation accounts (compare them yourself).

Therefore, Genesis 2:1-3 should correctly be Genesis 1:32-34.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77853717

Once you understand that they are two Seperate creation accounts, then you understand why you must choose which God you will serve.

If you are a citizen of a nation, you chose the LORD God.

I'm talking about spiritual survival as well as physical survival.
And I'm talking about survival of the lineage.
Those who moved on when God told them to move on had their lineage survive (in fact, to this day).

Why are you so defiant?

This is a discussion, not a war.

My understanding of scripture comes from God through his Spirit.

Tell me how spiritual survival, physical survival, and survival of the lineage doesn't line up with moving/leaving when told by God to move/leave?

Tell me how obedience isn't just saying you're going to obey but actually doing something to show you obey?

Lot's of folks CLAIM to have the Holy Spirit.

Benny Hinn - Kenneth Copeland and others. Do they REALLY?

Many folks claim to have the Holy Spirit but more than likely don't.

Proof of this is simple.

There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who pray to "the trinity". It's not Biblical. Jesus said to pray to the Father.

There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who say Jesus is Father God Himself. It's not Biblical.

There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who say Jesus IS the Holy Spirit. It's not Biblical.

There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who say Father God is a "demiurge". It's not Biblical.

There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who say Jesus will return on a space ship. It's not Biblical.

There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who speak in "tongues", but yet no one knows what they are saying, which Paul warned about.

There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who say the mansions in Father God's house are "planets". It's not Biblical.

There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who say that there is a "Pre-Tribulaion Rapture". It's not Biblical.

Yes, you're right. Many people say they're guided by God's Spirit, and they're not.

However, I'm not one of those people.

Also, how am I wrong to say that "moving is survival", if survival entails spiritual, physical and lineage aspects, and if the moving/leaving is done as an outward (physical) sign of obedience?

You can say you're obedient to God, but unless you do something to prove you're obedient (as in leaving when you don't really want to, or hosting a Reflection and Discussion thread when you don't really want to), you're just spouting words.

How is this a-scriptural, and how in particular does it not directly reflect today's reading?

Have some questions. So God is mad at Cain’s gifts, but please with Abel. As Cain tilled the land he brought the gifts he could. So how is it his fault and why is God mad at him. Obviously, deeper message here but I am not understanding it.

If God only kept a the good seed (Noah and al). And wiped out all the evil, how did the post flood world so quickly become evil.?

 Quoting: Servant-of-the-LORD

WRONG.
The Trinitarian nature of our God can be easily ascertained by those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. Those, like you, who have some cultic axe to grind will never accept the Bible's truth.

There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who say Jesus is Father God Himself. It's not Biblical.
 Quoting: Servant-of-the-LORD

DUMB.
No one is claiming Jesus is the Father.
Jesus is the Son of God, yet God Himself.
[See the Trinitarian nature of God above]

There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who say Jesus IS the Holy Spirit. It's not Biblical.
 Quoting: Servant-of-the-LORD

See above. The Godhead is a Trinty.
Jesus is the Son of God, yet God Himself.

There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who say Father God is a "demiurge". It's not Biblical.
 Quoting: Servant-of-the-LORD

WTF??
Paul instructed us to not get involved with useless, asinine disputations.

There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who say Jesus will return on a space ship. It's not Biblical.
 Quoting: Servant-of-the-LORD

See the WTF response above.

There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who speak in "tongues", but yet no one knows what they are saying, which Paul warned about.

Biblical tongues are KNOWN languages, not angelic language. DUMB.

There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who say the mansions in Father God's house are "planets". It's not Biblical.
 Quoting: Servant-of-the-LORD

These are Mormons (Morons). They are a cult which believes God lives on planet kolob.
Operative word is CULT. NOT Christian.

Regarding Cain, he was rebellious and had no "regard" for God nor consequently his parents. He was a liar and harbored murderous malice and covetousness in his heart that was expressed in the premeditated and cold-blooded murder of his own brother, shedding his innocent blood.

He was taught, just as his brother Abel was, what pleased and was acceptable to God for an offering.

He flaunted his disobedience right in God's "face" by bringing what he did, and was full of pride, because essentially he was demonstrating to God, and ev'ry one, that "his" offering was much better than what God required, and that his will, and not God's will was what was important.

How insulting to God.

God, nevertheless, was still gracious, and still attempted to reason with him, and what did Cain do after God extended this grace? He plotted on how to murder his own brother in cold blood.

Re: BIBLE READ-THROUGH: Day 1 (GENESIS 1-28:22): Reflection and Discussion
Thank you, OP for this thread. The reading took me a liitle longer than i anticipated, but worth ev'ry second....

i had a DVD of Alexander Scourby narrating the entire Bible, but i've misplaced it, so i ordered another. i'll be listening to these assigned chapters, and reading along as he narrates.

What i found fascinating (amongst so many things in this reading) is how very ancient the Euphrates River is, as well as Ethiopia.

Another fascinating tidbit is that serpents had "legs" before they were cursed by God because of Satan being used of one to approach Eve.

Thank you again.

Key Verse:

Genesis 15:6 (speaking of Abraham)
And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

This is still our basis of salvation/righteousness to this very day. Believe God. Period.
Take Him at His Word, and believe it.
Not so hard to do ... actually there is nothing to do.

Belief has predated the Law (10 commandments + ceremonial Laws) and will always be the measure of the true Disciple.

Read His perfect Word and Will for us .. and believe it.
God is perfect and cannot lie, therefore His Word MUST come to pass.

PS- Pay no attention to that NOT a Servant of the Lord guy.
He will lead you astray and diminishes the Lord Jesus every chance he gets.

Pay attention as you read the Bible to the interactions with creation. For example:
Interactions directly in and through man - The Holy Spirit
Interactions in the earth/creation itself - The Lord Jesus
Interactions with the whole plan itself - The Father

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80440296

Abel' offering was equal to a lamb being offered to God to save people from God's judgments. The seed of Eve from Ge:3:15 are all people with 5 fingers/hand. The seed of fallen angels are people with 6 fingers, aka 'the giants'.
Cain's offering will be the ones the Church makes during the 1,000 years. The rains in Zec:14 mean that is the only type of gift they can offer.

The water needed to flood all the dry land with 22ft of rain would lower the ocean by 5ft. That is all the water that was needed for the flood. To get rain to stay on high hills and mountain tops for 5 months, you have it fall as snow.

The verse below is about Satan's attempt to exterminate 5 fingered people so the seed of Eve from Ge:3:15.
Believers from the Re:1 group would understand that is the 3 wives of the 3 sons were women with 6 fingers, then giants killed in the exodus wars are there through genetics rather than 'magic' was needed.

Re:12:3-4:
And there appeared another wonder in heaven;
and behold a great red dragon,
having seven heads and ten horns,
and seven crowns upon his heads.
And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven,
and did cast them to the earth:
and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered,
for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Ge:6:8-10:
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
These are the generations of Noah:
Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations,
and Noah walked with God.
And Noah begat three sons,
Shem,
Ham,
and Japheth.

Not covered in the flood is the 3 women were left alive so the law they represented did not change until David killed Goliath, then the 10 Commandments replaced the law the sons of God from Ge:6 were under.

Abraham had Christ as his High Priest, It was Christ who did the talking when He and God and the Holy Spirit were on their way to save Lot.

Heb:7:1-4:
For this Melchisedec,
king of Salem,
priest of the most high God,
who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings,
and blessed him;
To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all;
first being by interpretation King of righteousness,
and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
Without father,
without mother,
without descent,
having neither beginning of days,
nor end of life;
but made like unto the Son of God;
abideth a priest continually.
Now consider how great this man was,
unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

after that Lot was separated from him,
Lift up now thine eyes,
and look from the place where thou art northward,

Jesus would have accepted Cain's offering but he hated Able for no reason. Jesus explains why his gift was not accepted:

St. Matthew 5:21-24
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

St. John 15:25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

The second answer is also explained by Jesus:

St. Matthew 12:43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

It also says in Revealtion that the world becomes inhabited by every foul bird (unclean spirits).

Re: BIBLE READ-THROUGH: Day 1 (GENESIS 1-28:22): Reflection and Discussion
There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who pray to "the trinity". It's not Biblical. Jesus said to pray to the Father.
 Quoting: Servant-of-the-LORD

WRONG. The Trinitarian nature of our God can be easily ascertained by those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. Those, like you, who have some cultic axe to grind will never accept the Bible's truth.

Show us where Jesus or anyone ELSE says "pray to the Trinity". You can't.

They don't. The Lord's Prayer is to the Father.
It's the ONLY prayer Jesus gave in scripture.

 Quoting: Servant-of-the-LORD

DUMB. No one is claiming Jesus is the Father.
Jesus is the Son of God, yet God Himself.

There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who say Father God is a "demiurge". It's not Biblical.
 Quoting: Servant-of-the-LORD

WTF?? Paul instructed us to not get involved with useless, asinine disputations.

Go read about Gnostic beliefs and the "Demiurge".

Biblical tongues are KNOWN languages, not angelic language. DUMB.

NONSENSE.

There are folks who claim to have the Holy Spirit who say the mansions in Father God's house are "planets". It's not Biblical.

These are Mormons (Morons). They are a cult which believes God lives on planet kolob. Operative word is CULT. NOT Christian.

Doesn't matter. My point is still valid.

You can say you're obedient to God, but unless you do something to prove you're obedient (as in leaving when you don't really want to, or hosting a Reflection and Discussion thread when you don't really want to), you're just spouting words.

Jesus said the Father is "The only TRUE God"

John 17:3 And this is life eternal,

that they might know thee
the only true God,

and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

.....

Jesus has a God - the Father. It's NOT Himself.
Does God have a god? NOPE. The SON OF God has a God.

John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not;
for I am not yet ascended to my Father:
but go to my brethren, and say unto them,

I ascend unto my Father, and your Father;

and to my God, and your God.

.....

Revelation 3:12 Him that overcometh will
I make a pillar in the temple of my God,
and he shall go no more out: and I will write
upon him the name of my God
,
and the name of the city of my God,
which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of
heaven from my God: and I will write upon
him my new name

.....

John 13:13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.

Equal? That's NOT what Jesus says.

The Father SENT Jesus.
The Father SENDS the Holy Spirit.

That requires AUTHORITY and power.

0. The Father says "I am God - there is NO ONE else".

00. Jesus SAID the Father is the
"only TRUE God" and "His God - OUR God".
- John 17:3 and John 20:17.

000. Jesus NEVER said "I am God".

0000. Jesus NEVER said "call me God".

1. Jesus NEVER said "pray to me" NOR "worship me".

2. Jesus NEVER said to pray to ANYONE other than the Father.

3. NO one says these THREE words - "Jesus is God".
I am a humble Servant of the one True Living God.

Re: BIBLE READ-THROUGH: Day 1 (GENESIS 1-28:22): Reflection and Discussion
Thank you for starting this. I had planned on starting over in the Bible from the beginning as I have mostly chosen random parts to read throughout my short time as a new follower of God.

A question: if Noah were the last of his kind, pure in lineage, why not bring him to heaven early and toast the earth, start completely over with a new setting and no defilement of humans by angels?

I've heard the idea that it's to bring glory to God, but I have such a hard time reconciling some things. Because I have experienced God, I believe and follow him, and I am seeking to understand better the things I don't. So many children over the years have suffered unimaginable horrors, I can not see how any amount of glory to God by adults could counter that weight.

Just seems like continuing when Noah was the only one left was the least optimal choice.
