User ID: 79555820 United States 12/30/2022 08:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Obi Won! You'll laugh when I tell you I just gave up my 1972 Toyota Tersel--bless her heart (her name was "Elizabeth") --she gave up the ghost in the parking lot of my local mechanic! As I just happened to be driving past and she started to make the most disgusting noises...I thought she was going to blow up. He declined to work on her the last visit I made for a tune-up--said the metal in the wheels was actually distorting (flattening, I think he said!) from the age. I kept the body pretty good shape for a 50 year old car --amazing that the original engine was still working. Donated Elizabeth right there to a guy who restores older cars--didn't charge him anything. Anyways--not driving these days due to vision changes from a mild stroke. By the way! You mentioned to me if I needed a favor I could ask you for an upgrade. Just gave away 12 upgrades in our caption contest last weekend (we had 4 sponsors plus my own karma points.) Good contest...but my Star fell off yesterday and just found out I need to take my 2 new Christmas kittens to the vet this weekend. Every penny counts this month with THAT kind of expense ("tutoring" and shots are spendy for sure!) So...could you shoot me a "gold star" and I'll upgrade you on your next turn-around? That would be so great! I would PM you but can't do that without my star! (Thanks if you can--otherwise just delete this, ok?) (I'm hosting a thread tonight you might like--it's karma pinned!) Happy New Year, Obi Wan! The Oracle's Cookie I beat him to it.. You've been responsible for so much goodwill and upgrades it'd be a travesty to see you go one second more without an upgrade! OC is a legend here. Although I've only upgraded 36 members this year, I've only just begun. My time is limited here as I have incurable cancer and nobody knows the date of my final demise. Know I am at peace and whatever happens was meant to be... God bless you Obi - prayers daily going up for you starting now. Truther, no matter how painful it may be initially. Stay the course. Laugh everyday. Listen to others, truly listen. Even if it takes you awhile to understand where they are coming from. Everyone has a life story. Ask someone what theirs is. Fighter to the core. Never give up, never give in. |

Quoting: Happy in Nature It need $10K in work and rebuilds. :( Not sure what I am going to do. Get a second opinion. She's also ugly. (j/k Happy. I had to go for the obvious punchline. Forgive me) :) My car is definitely not pretty. It's usually filled with plants, the obligatory oil and radiator/brake/power steering fluid and car jack, trash (I picked up 40 lawn and leaf bags of trash that washed up on lake in the past 5 months), building materials, and god knows what else. I really need a truck. It's also covered with spiders at the moment because it's spider season in Cardenas. Lucky me. |

New transmission 100k miles ago. 349k on the odometer. Strong running truck. Interior is still in excellent condition and the paint still shines. Love my truck. Bought it used in 2004 for $2800 cash. Just put a new set of 4 BF Goodrich AT T/A $210 each mounted and balanced plus a less expensive new LT for the spare. Freaking tires cost almost half what I gave for the truck. Beats walking. |

It has a leaky heater core and I haven't found the ambition to rip the entire dash out to replace it. 2004 PT Cruiser (I know, I know) - it was free, I just had to fix it. 70K miles, excellent condition. drives great.
