It's a beautiful portrait! The kind of talent many of us do not have. Nicely done.

she's got a schnoz like Jimmy Durante; but, clearly you have a lot of talent, especially so if you tackle the most difficult of subject matters - portraits.

Yeah man, I'm working on making the schnoz a bit narrower.

Because it's an underpainting, I should be able to fix it pretty easily but I hear you.

It completely baffles me how the hell you can do this , I wouldn’t know where to start , you have more talent in your little finger than I have in my hole being , it just seems so impossible, definitely a fantastic talent…

Jeez , it’s a portrait , could be of his girlfriend or sister, maybe go easy on the schnoz remarks

Honestly, when it comes to something like a portrait... non-artist types are the best people to get informed criticism from.

You don't need to know how to draw or paint to know that the nose is too big.

It's actually an incredible thing about humans, to be able to sense these things, innately.

It's an underpainting so I'm not worried.

That's the whole point of the exercise.

Do you draw freehand or use aids such as tracing paper , light box etc ?
If it was done freehand then painted you did an excellent job

the only thing that looks perfect is her forehead and the background brushstrokes. and shading is pretty good.

But sorry, most cannot duplicate the human face perfectly. it is very difficult to get every different part of the face perfectly symmetrical.

keep trying. maybe you will figure it out.

you still fucked it up, you will see in your finished painting.

I went straight to paint with this, so no drawing underneath.

That's why the nose is messed up.

Nah man you can move mountains with paint at this stage.

Or any stage, really... if you know how to do it.
