First rule of prepping...Never tell anyone what you have got. If your neighbors fail to take your advice and are to cheap and lazy to prep for themselves, they will bust your door down and take your stuff. Also you may want to look into Mountain House foods. They are far better quality than most and have been in business a long time.

My neighbors have tons of money, lawyers, IT retired from Calgary, they have more money then I do lol. But their dumb asses about prepping. I'm cluing them in.

Me too, cases here and there I bought, but nothing serious till now.

Just because they have 'tons of money' does not mean they spend it wisely. Many folks do not prep because they do not want to believe that the worst could happen, or they believe that the government will rescue them. Take care of your family and do not worry about 'dumb asses.'

I'm a long term women, been with my hubby 25 years and neighbors 15/ 1998. That makes a difference.

I do have one #10 of mountain house stew, and some bags of dried veggies. I also have, for now, my own well which I can siphon water out of if necessary. I do have a wood stove which came in handy when the power went out one winter (it was out for 24 hours) and we used the wood stove to cook on as it has a flat top. I am going to hate to leave that behind....

That's hard, but that saying, "go where the fish are" is so important. Even me buying this food was only back up. Imagine no electricity alone?

I hope that my advice does not come off as condescending, but in a true SHTF situation the thin veneer we call society could break down very quickly. That neighbor that you have known for 15 years will turn on you like a copper head if their kids are hungry and they know you are holding food.

And they can eat lead!
