This probably goes hand and hand with feel the bern in your wallet saying if he becomes president he will forgive student loans. They are casting their nets. Trying to swing voters. |

[link to www.wtxl.com (secure)] Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75227570 LAKELAND, Fla. (WFTS) — Nearly 1,000 health care workers have lost their license to practice in Florida because they can’t repay their student loans – a new crackdown potentially putting hundreds out of work, the I-Team found. The move to suspend health care licenses comes after federal student loan companies spent years lobbying states to adopt laws to punish those who default on student loans by taking away their professional licenses. But an ABC Action News review found Florida is the only state enforcing those laws. Investigative Reporter Adam Walser uncovered the state’s Board of Health suspended more than 900 health care licenses – including professional certifications for registered nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, pharmacists and opticians – in the just the past two years alone. my wife owes 25,000 in student loans to become an RN,.... for the Doctors who aren't repaying their loan boo hoo.... making $150,000 a year or more and can't pay $1,000 a month... good thing florida is getting these cheaters. |

I have a hard time feeling sorry for people with huge student loans. I had plenty of money to attend private university. In fact, I started out there but I thought it was stupid to pay that much. I opted for community college and then transferred to a state university. Finished with zero debt and money left in my college fund to open a business. There are plenty of ways to get a degree with no debt. Even medical school--join the military and its free. Or work in a rural clinic and they also will pay for you. |

Good! Florida did the right thing. Kudos to my new state that I moved too. These dead-beat doctors and nurses will stay in health-care industry, just make less. The penalty fits, and even though it will take them much longer to pay back the loans because of the lower wages, it will set a HUGE example, for any of these other fucks that borrow $ for school with no intention of paying it back. I did not use student loan money go to Florida or Cancun on spring break, pay my bar tab, or go to the casino ( yes, I have seen all of this). I graduated a four year program with less than 10g in debt, and was out of that in 3 years by working my ass off. Today, that is considered an anomaly, in the early 90’s, it was the NORM. Im glad they did that. I cant tell you how many credit applications I see every day with student loan defaults, yet they want to buy a home or a car. I think it should be done nationwide, and the lingo is probably somewhere in the fine print that nobody read. |
