Yes, Life Tabernacle in Central. They will have spread this far and wide. I live in Central. Haven't heard of any cases yet. Will update if I hear anything.

Absolutely criminal. I'm a Christian and believe that God can conquer anything but He gave us a brain to think and discern. He gave us common sense for a reason.

I wish they would start subtracting the ones that have been cured off of the map so we can see which parishes are going down in numbers and which ones are gaining.

One of my big fears is one of my children having to go in because of this and being alone. It would absolutely be horrific.

So we currently have a Shelter in Place that is basically Voluntary because it's not being enforced in any manner. I wonder if they will tighten things up and get stricter? Anyone hearing anything?

Completely agree. I'm also Christian but it was irresponsible what they did. The pastor should be arrested for violating the order not to amass more than 50 ppl in one place! You should see our local rants page! It's full of fellow Christians pissed off at this idiot pastor and his moron followers!! No one is happy that he probably brought more of that virus to our area!!! He will be very sorry when elderly in his congregation end up severely ill.

This week on my route I saw pawnshops, laundromats, oil change places, everything is open. Lots of people out and about, gathering, getting take out food. Very few wearing masks or gloves. I personally know 2 people working at fast food restaurant chains- they are saying managers have tested positive, employees on self quarantine, people calling in sick....Yet these restaurants remain open for business, nothing about it in local news.

Governor Edwards admitted last week there would be no checkpoints or forcing anyone to stay home. Louisiana is on the “honor system” with this thing, it’s a big fat JOKE.

Did the number of deaths in a 24 hour period finally go down? Its probably too soon but I do think most ppl are moving about less in my area. Not sure about elsewhere.

Recap of all numbers so we can get a better idea of how this is moving. Remember the beginning was 2 updates a day and then we moved to once a day. I went through and calculated the difference from day to day...hopefully I did it correctly....so we can see how the numbers are increasing

It's tough. I check on her everyday, today I brought her crawfish and pistachio ice cream. Her faves. It's awful. Cause all I can do is drop it on her doorstep with a note that tells her I love her.

They NEED to. I have to go out b/c of Mom, and it's just a regular weekend.

Today my sister called me from New Iberia. Her mother in law was tested for Covid on Thursday after flu was negative. She was told to quarantine for the next 10 days or until results return, as she had been feeling bad for 4. She is waiting for results.

Today sis called me to let me know Mother in law was rolling around town and took Apple juice to the Nursing Home for her dad. Of course, she just dropped it off but came in contact with an employee. Mother in law wanted my sister to go get the juice back so her dad would not get sick, and was freaking out b/c she may make him sick. My sister told her no, what's done is done.

It's this kind of insanity that is going to harm us all, and definitely drive our numbers up.

( Luckily I only met her Mother in law once, so we are not close enough for me to tell her off... LOL)

I've received some information from inside about conditions at FCI Oakdale (a federal prison here in my home state of Louisiana). I'm very disturbed by what I heard. It sounds like #COVID19 and other illnesses may have spread through most of the facility, including to the staff.

Frustrating that more people are not taking this seriously...

I went to the store for the first time in over a week yesterday to replenish the groceries I used up for the week and top off gas tank.

People where everywhere.. buying an candy for there 3 kids in the store. Buying a coke and that's it. Hell I even saw on old nun buy a klondike bar!!! Wtf?

This will only get worse and last longer this way...
