I hate to say this but it’s true.

When you work with the public day in and day out in that profession, E.R. or EMS you see and have to deal with dumb shits just like Floyd. It wears on you and you eventually become numb to it. You really have to or else you carry it home every day and become an alcoholic. It’s depressing to see 100’s of people every week stoned out of their gourd or crazy as a cat on meth. This has become society for the most part. It’s not just young people either, it’s all age groups. I’ve walked into scenes of shootings and stabbings so many times that I can’t remember, much less count. One guy had just cut his arm almost off half drunk and on meth slinging the knife he used around splattering his hepatitis blood everywhere and everyone close to him. I had to get his damn dog out way from this fool cause the dog was licking up his diseased blood. The point is, yeah the job makes you numb to it. You simply have to be.
