Why do you still eat meat?

And why is this allegedly happening? because we were TAUGHT AND TOLD..it was ok to do this..

maybe thats why Christ said..the TRUTH will set us FREE?

Maybe thats why he said..to understand the end we must UNDERSTAND AND KNOW the beginning..?

but to summarize..that taking life and eating flesh (animal flesh)..or sacrifices life ( as in animal sacrifice)..is ok..and good and aceptable to God..liked by God in certain instances.?

Someone went out of their way to have us focus on an Apple..

WHY?

so that we wouldnt guess what the story is really about? that Fruit is what we are supposed to eat and not flesh?

Christ told us straight up and CLEAR..that God is God of LIFE..

So how can life be worshipped and praised buy offering dead meat..or by blood letting or by killing?

this is in my opinión a spiritual abomination..sacrilege in my opinión..deep stuff

A close family member got cancer in 1998 - which led me to embark upon a 3 year study (of people I knew that agreed to the challenge) of diet and blood type. A certain blood type declined in health drastically when animal protein was removed from their diet, while another blood type did well when animal protein was limited (tho not entirely removed).

OP, how do you feel about free-range animal protein? I feed my family only meat (and eggs) that has been raised at local farms, and I visit the farms :) because I do care how they live and how they die. The animals graze in fields (without GMO or injections) and the day they die, it is a quick moment, no suffering - unlike the millions of humans who suffer for months before death.

Eating serves the purpose of fueling the physical body. I'm not saying there isn't a link between the food we eat and consciousness, indeed, if you believe a food is bad for you, then it is (the saying "whether you believe it's true or not, you're right" is appropriate) but consciousness (spirit) does not require a food (or lack thereof) for energy - consciousness IS energy :)

interesting little factoid....if the events of Eden did indeed happen then it was probably a fig and not an apple.

apples were not known to the part of the world that Eden is believed to be in.

I drink non fertilized free range eggs...but NO meat..wether free range or not

I have seen how animals love and respond to love..thats enough for my decisión

but I do not want to judge others..I understand how very difficult it is for some to not eat meat

personally i lean towards the theory that the Eden story was about the agricultural revolution.

Spiritual wholeness comes from spiritual purity..can there be spiritual purity when the body is in my opinión impure with the presence of rotting flesh in its bowels?

Why? because whoever allegedly lied ..or whereever the alleged lie stemmed from..thought or believed or knew they couldnt be part of the Kingdom..therefore their hábitat had to be created..maintained..preserved..in my opinión.. aka the fallen state..?

I've been vegetarian for 14 years. EXCEPT for a brief period years ago in which I was prescribed painkillers and xanax after a back injury. I feel like being addicted to those two things KILLED my spirituality looking back. And during that time of being spiritually "dead" is when I could eat meat and not care, and even think that it was good for me. Upon getting of of them, I was shocked that I had been able to eat meat so easily and flippantly after so many years of being a strict vegetarian. That is all the verification I need.

WH it's hard to subscribe to the appeal to higher authority (God) you are making in this context because of the questions posed earlier. The animal kingdom and ecosystem is designed to sustain itself through the food chain and consumption of other living things. The ecosystem would collapse if this design was not in place. All species would overpopulate and consume all the vegetation on Earth resulting in mass starvation & extinction of species. The Earth literally cannot support itself without the food chain that's in place.

So why did 'God' create nature to operate in this manner and then you say it's unacceptable to 'God' for there to be flesh consumption? It creates a double standard. Animals eating animals = God's design. Humans eating animals = unacceptable to 'God'??? Are humans separate from nature and above the design? Isn't the line of thinking that we are separate from nature what led us into this mess with regards to pollution and the depletion of natural resources? Our viewing ourselves as separate or outside of nature?

That being said. There is something to be said about a healthy balance & order and there's no doubt that we have strayed far from that ideal. There is probably too much meat consumption in many parts of the world and the treatment of animals in the meat industry is unacceptable. If animals are to be used for food consumption it should be done in a manner that ensures as little suffering as possible.

Now I remember reading the Old Testament when I was young. Did not get too far in it (anyone can tell here that I am not a Bible person.) But:
I remember reading of the lifespan of Abraham, Isaac and their children; those people lived 800, 600, 400 years.
It says those people ate only fruits and grains first. After the Great Flood God permitted temporarily to the people to eat the meat of certain type of animals for it took time for the plants to grow ripe enough to be harvested and eaten. It seems somehow this rule have been forgotten, they kept eating meat and that was the time, when the life span started to shrink with every generation.

i am a type 1 insulin dependant diabetic

this severely restricts the cabohydrates i can cosume

i use meat to give me some sense of a satisfying meal

OP you are Catholic right? Why are you condemning something that the church does not find sinful? This could qualify as preaching false doctrine, causing guilt over something that isn't actually sinful. Maybe talk with a priest about this before going any further...

I know that if I had good home made fresh bread every day I wouldn't even miss meat. Need the butter though.
