A plane lost for many days without a signal? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 55427413 Reminds me of the movie from Stephen King novel many years ago...very strange. [link to en.wikipedia.org] |

You need to have an atmospheric blast al high altitude. The ceiling height is listed at 43,100ft ~ 8.1 miles high, and the maximum range of the aircraft is 5,240 nmi - 9,380 nmi. depending on the model. The 777-200LR has the 9,380 nmi. range. This altitude is not significant enough to produce a desirable condition to do much damage with an emp with an origin from a nuclear detonation, that being said other technologies may exist that could indeed be installed on a large craft such as this. That kind of range it could easily make it to the continental US from a distant location. If a pilot gets a call from the chinese government to divert its flight, would the captain comply as protocol? communications could have been cut off at the source by someone with the knowledge of this aircraft, flight diverted to mainland china, install said weapon on plane, blend in with air traffic on day and do what ever it is they would like to do.....sounds like a bond movie... or it could have sufferd a catastrophic , yet instant end. |

My fear is that the plane was hijacked to become a flying bomb for one of these tallest buildings. There are actually two of the world's tallest buildings located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where the plane took off from. Someone could use this plane very similarly to the way planes were used on September 11th. Thread: Missing Airline Hijacked To Become Future Bomb (Like 9/11?) |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 30036665 United States 03/10/2014 05:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I feel so sad for the families, desperate for any glimmer of hope. But : "... a Chinese family has successfully dialed and rang the mobile cell phone of a passenger on board the Malaysia Airlines plane MH370. "... Today, the brother of a man who is listed on the missing airplane's manifest demonstrated for Chinese television that he could dial his sibling's mobile phone, which was with him on the plane, and that the call was connected and rang several times indicating the phone is working, turned on and able to be answered somewhere." When you call a cell phone number, and you hear the ring sound, it doesn't mean that the phone is on and ringing. You've connected to the phone company's system is all it means. So sorry to say it. Sorry, but this is complete bullshit, and easily verifiable on your own. This is the first time I have ever posted on this website ,and generally regard people being labelled "shill" as paranoia, but you are either ignorant or have an agenda. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 55424944 those people have good batteries in their cell phones. When I fly I turn my phone off, thus saving battery. If the phone is off it wouldn't ring either which means they might have had them off and turned them on in hopes someone would be able to ping them. My cell phone "rings" all the time when it's off. Seriously. It means nothing. |

I have Verizon and it still rings in the phone I am dialing with but my cell phone Quoting: KimmieAnnaJones does not. Just sayin.... Exactly, a cell phone can be dead, and yet you will hear it on YOUR end ringing, and when not answered, the computer/phone company will start recording for voice mail. I can dial someone, on VOIP, they won't hear it ring if the phone is offline, but I'll hear it ring on my end. This means NOTHING. |
