Anonymous Coward User ID: 55423337 Greece 03/10/2014 05:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It could... A lot of people do that when traveling. I think the families have a very real and valid request. It's not just one or two phones behaving this way... Many of the phones are RINGING ... Rather than going to voicemail or simply being unavailable. To request that attempts be made to trace the signals from the phones is not only reasonable but a must if anyone is to believe that a thorough investigation is being done. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 55423337 Greece 03/10/2014 05:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | alot of iphones have gps tracking. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 55419391 i know when i had mine stolen i used the gps and pinpointed it and got it back has no one on that plane got a trackable phone? Out of 239 people aboard I would think there would be plenty of iPhone and iPads... Which have fantastic tracking features... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 46107380 United Kingdom 03/10/2014 05:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Of course. Try it yourself. Turn your phone off and ring it from another phone or landline. If your phone is off it goes straight to voicemail. It will only ring if the other phone is working and on. This basically proves the phones were working, had juice and were able to receive calls |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 2877009 United States 03/10/2014 05:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Phones don't ring when off or battery us dead. Phones are auautomatically transfered to the operating answerphone system. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28736752 Right. So let's discuss that! The phones are probably still ringing with active battery power because the people are trapped in another dimension. Time, gravity and everything we know here is altered. I know this sounds a little "Twillight Zoney" but consider it for a minute. Those people are still alive. We can call them but they can't call us because they are trapped. This is such a media mystery but I feel like they're covering it all up. If that plane crashed into the ocean, SOMETHING would've floated to the surface by now. At least a seat cushion or small luggage. But nada! I think the media will soon come out and declare some alien thing took them and do their project bluebeam thing. The desperation is setting in and their war with Russia was a bust because Russia moved strategically. This smells like a false flag 100%....but people are paying attention harder. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 53879644 United States 03/10/2014 05:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Generally speaking- If a phone is turned off, the battery dies, or if the signal is intentionally blocked it will go directly to vm when called. If a phone is "out of service area" you may get a recording telling you this, it may go directly to vm, or it may ring a few times and then go to voicemail when called - it almost never rings as many times as it normally would. All of this varies, based on provider. If a phone is turned on and in service area, it will ring however many rings it is programmed to ring and then go to voicemail when called. Occasionally, when there is some "unknown" signal interference, a phone will just ring to no end, never going to voicemail with no indication by the phone that a call was ever made to it, or that they were having signal interference. |

Are you saying the same applies to cell phones? SPEAK UP. SILENCE IS DEADLY! I am currently experiencing life at several WTFs per hour. |

I have Verizon and it still rings in the phone I am dialing with but my cell phone Quoting: KimmieAnnaJones does not. Just sayin.... That seems strange to me, here most mobile phone if not all go striaght to voice mail if they are off or broken. The right question to ask is this then: When the relatives call the cell phones are they going to voicemail? If not, why not? Are you telling me over 200 people don't have voicemail set up on their phones? Also, the obvious: Can black boxes be tampered with or disabled? |

And that's a pretty ignorant thing to say that no one on conspiracy sites has agendas... when the it was leaked months ago that the NSA pays people to sanitize conspiracy sites. Dumbass. |
