Officials also revealed that there have been 13 San Diego residents so far who have been identified as sitting next to individuals on airplanes who ultimately tested positive for COVD-19.

Four of thsose 13 are still being monitored, while the rest have been cleared. One who was tested for the novel strain of Coronavirus was ultimately found to be negative.

At the border, federal authorities have been screening those crossing into the United States for possible symptoms.

So far, two so-called "persons under investigation' who are in federal ICE custody have been identified.

"We still have tests pending on those individuals and those individuals remain in isolation," said county Deputy Public Health Officer Dr. Eric McDonald, adding that ICE facilities in Otay Mesa have special rooms used to contain those with possible infectious diseases, like Coronavirus..

Coronavirus cases at hospital in western Japan rise to 5

WAKAYAMA--Three new cases of coronavirus were confirmed Feb. 15 at a hospital here where a surgeon and a patient earlier tested positive for infection.

The new infections resulted from them coming into contact with the fiftysomething infected surgeon, prefectural authorities said.

They said another doctor at Saiseikai Arida Hospital, as well as his wife and an in-patient, had also tested positive for the coronavirus.

A man in his 70s who at one time was hospitalized at the facility was confirmed the previous day to have the coronavirus. The latest announcement brings the number of infections at the hospital to five.

According to Wakayama prefectural authorities, the second doctor, also in his 50s, developed a fever and cough on Feb. 4. The man was diagnosed with pneumonia on Feb. 10. During that period, he worked a total of five days.

As at noon today (February 15), public hospitals had reported to the Department of Health the admission of 45 patients (23 male and 22 female, aged 12 months to 83 years) in the past 24 hours who met the reporting criteria of severe respiratory disease associated with a novel infectious agent. Specimens of the patients concerned have been sent for testing. There are 120 patients under isolation currently.

The Hospital Authority will maintain close contact with the Centre for Health Protection to monitor the latest developments and to inform the public and healthcare workers on the latest information in a timely manner.

Singapore confirms 5 new cases of COVID-19; 1 more patient discharged

SINGAPORE: Singapore reported five new cases of COVID-19 infection, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in an update on Saturday (Feb 15).

Of these, three are linked to the cluster at Grace Assembly of God church; one is linked to the cluster at Seletar Aerospace Heights construction site and the other case is linked to a previous case.

This brings the total number of novel coronavirus infections in Singapore to 72.

b) Nine of the confirmed cases (Cases 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 27, 28, 34 and 40) are linked to the cluster associated with Yong Thai Hang (24 Cavan Road).

c) Three of the confirmed cases (Cases 30, 36 and 39) are linked to the private business meeting held at Grand Hyatt Singapore from 20 to 22 January.

d) Five of the confirmed cases (Cases 42, 47, 52, 56 and 69) are linked to the Seletar Aerospace Heights construction site.

Investigations on these clusters are ongoing.

Person back in ICE custody after being evaluated for coronavirus at Sharp Chula Vista

A person is back in ICE custody and in isolation after they were taken to Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center to be evaluated for possible coronavirus symptoms.

The individual was in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement when officials determined the person needed to be taken to Sharp Chula Vista, the county said.

The hospital then contacted the county's Public Health Department, which determined the person didn't need to be hospitalized and recommended self-isolation, according to the county.

Five Americans and one Chinese have tested positive for coronavirus in Wilmington, North Carolina, authorities have said in a statement.

The New Hanover County Public Health Department stated this information is false.

A new coronavirus test was carried out, mainly by one, and positive results were confirmed for 67 (including 38 asymptomatic pathogen carriers) of the 217 patients whose results were found. In the future, it will be transported to medical institutions with infectious disease wards.

Positive cases were confirmed in 285 of the 930 patients tested (including 73 asymptomatic pathogen carriers).




27% of the confirmed are asymptomatic carriers. The CDC and other health professionals keep telling us that ACs make up very little of the infected population, and therefore aren't really significant to the spread. 27% is NOT insignificant.
