SOme cat food and a candle...it will be fine...or give up residency in Texas.

Texas is far enough south that any south facing window will let the sun warm a room, passive solar heating. You may want to move your bed to a location where the sun shine lands on it. Maybe put up a blanket on the doorways that would let the heat out of that room.

A little oil space heater would do the trick and I'm assuming you can buy heating oils in Tex ass.

Go outside and exercise to warm up.

I hear freezing to death is not so bad as you just go to sleep.

there r no pilot lights on anything anymore! you need power to light them. gas hot water, heat all need power to light the pilot light. only if you have a 25 year old heater is there a pilot light on all the time! i recall getting heat in old days by turning on gas by hand. turning off when hot. now days everything uses power to turn on and no way to do it by hand.

Minnesota will be the same next year as there going to all green power. everyone here knows it will not work but there is no stopping them.
once all the coal plant go off line for good we will be without power also.

if you get really cold, just poke yourself in the eyeball with a sharp stick, pine, fir, oak, really any will do.

the pain from that, will totally make you forget about the cold...

I assume you have a natural-gas stove with pilot lights. Boil water on the stove--all four burners.

Of course, if you have an old-style natural-gas oven that you can ignite manually with a match, you can use that--pretend you're roasting a turkey!

Apparently only two people have died from the freezing temps in Texas and they were homeless. The rest are just uncomfortable.

get a fucking indoor propane heater or candles even...you can even put up a tent indoors in a room and with a candle stay fucking warm...

if you cant make it through a none event like this with power down for a couple days ...your dead already because you have no thrive and no brains to prepare even a little...
