The logistics of an operation of that type in a population mass like that are simply staggering and for me personally overwhelming. The numbers in Hubei ar down a bit today. Did they run up against a testing wall? In a few days, we will have big numbers if they are really testing door-to-door. Maybe we have hit an inflection point and they actually got a handle on Hubei. Time will tell. One or 2 days does not a trend make.

i don't see how this is even possable. 1st u have to have 11 million kits. then u have to have enough time to run the tests for that many. even to test just the mass # of potentially infected is a huge project.

HAHAHAHA,u bought that? did u not see the reports that the states decide if to release any of the info on the tests? so some states decided not to even tell u they did any tests let aloone the results.

I'm not the one to tackle that but it would seem to me that the data would have to be extrapolated after the epidemic runs it's course through the whole ship. Iv'e read a lot of post apocalyptic fiction and never did I come across something like this story that is transpiring on this ship. This is only one ship out of I'm sure many that will end up port-less making it in-capable of doing much but allowing the virus to spread. I've never been on a Cruise but I can't imagine they are set up to provide intensive care to the passengers or crew.... Talk about worse case scenario !!!

50,000 new cases a day means a pool of 333,000 infected in China.

I suspect that is a low number.

That will change rather soon.

My Mamaw used to put things outside in direct sun, as she said, "To kill the germs". This was a big thing after someone in the house was sick, all sheets, towels, pillows washed and left in direct sunlight all day long.

Fire training facility near North Bend to be used as coronavirus quarantine site

NORTH BEND, Wash — The Washington State Patrol's Fire Training Academy near North Bend has been designated as a quarantine site for travelers coming from the Hubei Province in China, State Patrol said Wednesday.

Travelers without symptoms of coronavirus who have been in Hubei Province in the past two weeks will be placed under quarantine with daily monitoring by public health officials, according to Washington state Department of Health.

The purpose for the King County facility is for those who cannot self-quarantine at home, which will be the first option for travelers.
