Well it looks like the governments are in full damage control mode today with nothing but mitigation at the forefront. Expect low numbers for the next couple days while they try to decide how to keep everything standing up for a while longer. I can't even begin to imagine the closed door conversations going on with the bureaucrats. What a shitshow !!

Sorry guys had to get that off my chest even though it is all opinion !!!

A transcript of the CDC Telecon just held.

I want to personally thank and tip my hat to Sharon Sanders at FLutrackers. Not only does she keep that site running smoothly, she does an amazing job of getting the info out.

So, here you go, Thanks Sharon!

teleconference notes:

165 persons being observed, 68 have tested negative, still only 5 confirmed cases, will find more

20 airports are now screening where CDC has quarantine stations, ..what about land based borders, ports? 2 airports where there are CDC stations are land borders too (didn't address ports and other land borders that I could ascertain).

travel health cards being handed out to travelers

plane full of US citizens returned from Wuhan to this country, 195 passengers, CDC staff on hold, all asymptomatic, voluntarily living in quarters on military base for risk assessment, cheered when landed, no specific time frame for holding the passengers on base. Working as quickly as can to return these Americans to their lives. They want to cooperate with health officials.

CDC well prepared for this event, working with partners (states), etc.

low risk to general American public

CDC actively engaged in care of 5 confirmed patients

CDC is invited to be part of the W.H.O. mission to China

How does this differ from flu? Fever, cough, respiratory are the symptoms. Risk factor is travel to Hubei province, and 2nd risk group is their contacts.

Most Americans don't need to be necessarily concerned.

My comments: Fuck you, CDC. A prudent person should be concerned. So fuck off with your condescension.

Get an elderberry supplement and Triphala. Most importantly Triphala. It may not prevent you from getting sick but it will likely reduce the severity of symptoms to that of a common cold.

You can both on Amazon or health food/ supplement store.

Yeah, I agree. Haven't taken my eyes off of this since Friday. I have been glued to all the videos coming out, statements, everything.

Thailand, unless it gets help, is going to go critical and fast.

And these H2H cases in Japan, Germany, and France, also have the potential to spark outbreaks themselves.

I still have to pray. Because this is looking like it could wipe out >15% of the world population. Not trying to fear monger of course, but how is this not the reality we are looking at?

This is the french case #5

The epidemic continues to spread. The Minister of Health, Agnès Buzyn, confirmed on Wednesday a fifth proven case of the new coronavirus on French soil. She is the daughter of the fourth case, the 80-year-old Chinese tourist . "In serious condition", they both were placed in intensive care.

This man had arrived in France "on January 23" and first consulted the emergency room of the European Georges Pompidou hospital in Paris on Saturday 25. He was not initially detained, however.

"He had a fever but no cough or respiratory signs, he did not come from Wuhan (epicenter of the epidemic in China, editor's note) but from a city 400 kilometers north: he was far from the criteria and n 'was not selected as a possible case' of coronavirus infection, said Professor Yazdanpanah earlier today.

Comment: So they had him, he did not fit the epidemiological critera (Wuhan) so the released him. He then infected his daughter. Both are in serious condition in the ICU. I blame the WHO directly for this case.

Triphala is a little known substance to westerners.

I went to school for Ayurvedic Medicine.

Triphala is a formula of 3 fruits found in India. They are dried and made into a powder.

Triphala's function is to reduce any excess of each of the three bodily humors. Kapha, Pitta, and Vata, or Mucus, Bile/heat, and air/nervous energy, respectively.

It is superb for maintaining balanced health in the GI tract, especially the intestines both large and small.

Western medicine now understands that the immune function is critically supported by the GI tract or "gut health".

It can be taken any time in any amount (within reason) during any stage of health or illness.

As for elderberry, Nawty is correct. It is meant to increase the strength of the immune system, but once symptoms present elderberry should not be taken as it is known to exacerbate cytokine response.

I don't seem to be able to post the link to the study but Triphala is being studied as an alternative AIDS/ HIV treatment.

Elderberry should be taking before or as soon as you feel sick. After 24-48 hours it no longer has the same antiviral effect. Similar to the way tamiflu only works if you begin taking it a day or 2 after getting sick.

"Declaring a PHEIC grants the WHO director-general certain powers, including the ability to issue recommendations for how countries should respond. Under a PHEIC, Tedros could, for example, urge countries not to close borders or limit trade — actions that are viewed as unlikely to stop disease spread and as likely to discourage countries from being transparent about outbreaks. Countries do not have to comply with WHO’s recommendations."

"PHEIC declarations can also galvanize global attention to the need to address the outbreak. Dr. Michael Ryan, the executive director of WHO’s health emergencies program, who accompanied Tedros to Beijing, said a PHEIC could help coordinate the international response. Having nearly 200 countries make unilateral decisions with regard to travel and trade restrictions with China could be a “recipe for disaster” politically, economically, and socially."

Re: COVID* STANDFORD MASK STUDY---Elsevier journal to retract widely debunked masks study whose author claimed a Stanford affiliation p345

WHO do they think they are? WHO is a disaster!

It also puts all the onus on the DG, and it's obvious he doesn't want that responsibility.

Here's the CDC version, h/t ronan kelly

[link to www.cdc.gov (secure)]

CDC is closely monitoring an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus named 2019-nCoV. The outbreak first started in Wuhan, China, but cases have been identified in a growing number of other international locations, including the United States. CDC will update the following U.S. map daily. Information regarding the number of people under investigation will be updated regularly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Patients Under Investigation (PUI) in the United States*†‡
As of 1/29/2020

People under Investigation (PUI) in the United States
Positive 5
Negative 68
Pending§ 92

Total 165
*Cumulative since January 21, 2020.
Numbers closed out at 7 p.m. the night before reporting.
Excludes those with contact to a known case.
§Includes specimens received and awaiting testing, as well as specimens in route to CDC.

Number of states with PUI: 36

 Quoting: NawtyBits

Why would they exclude those with contact to a known case. That will deflate the numbers.
 Quoting: Feistylorax

I believe it's because they are asymptomatic at this point.
 Quoting: Toprance1

I asked the CDC on twitter. lol. But, that's not what it says. How many contacts are being tested. If they arent symptomatic, then I would not expect a test. However, if they are symptomatic, and being tested, according to the footnote, those numbers are not included.

That
