Posted this in the other thread as well.

There is now a suspected case in Beaumont, Texas. News said he came home from China with flu like symptoms. Beaumont is approx. 90 miles east of Houston.

Another interesting interview on their website is about a man who traveled to China to spend the New Years with his girlfriends family and traveled back to Houston. He got sick on the way and was qurantened. Now home self isolating. Interesting story and hey, what could go wrong?

Thanks. Self-isolating at home works great when it works. It frees up valuable hospital resources. But, there is always that one idiot who "needed" his Starbucks fix. In China they are monitoring with electronic bracelets. That's what we need to do here.
 Quoting: NawtyBits

Yeah in the interview he complains about not finding any masks in the area and how he would like to send some to China. It's an interesting interview.

Madison, Wisconsin - On Thursday, January 30, 2020, a patient presented at the University Hospital emergency department. They had recently traveled to Beijing, China, and interacted with individuals from Wuhan, China, and presented with symptoms consistent with the virus upon their return to Madison.

Specimen samples were sent to the State Division of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and results came back positive on February 5. The case was reported to the state Department of Health Services immediately upon discovery.

[snip]

Since initial treatment at University Hospital, the patient has been self-quarantined at home."

I’m the anonymous from earlier who posted that I have family in WI. I also live very near to WI and was in a UW medical building in Madison on Friday with my son. I debated cancelling the appointment but it was a necessary follow up and honestly cancelling to a later date would have probably increased our risk. I still think our risk was low because of the nature of what we were there for. Anyway. Here are my observations: There were hand sanitizer stations everywhere- Like in every hallway on each end, at every door and by every elevator- almost to the point of being stupid. The signs posted said to wear a mask if you were coughing (instead of the typical flu-like symptoms that they usually post)
There was a policeman? Security guard? Sitting by the reception area. I don’t recall that from our initial visit a couple months ago. That got my attention.
Also- the receptionist verified who we were- took and scanned the insurance card- and THEN asked if we had been to Wuhan or had close contact with someone with verified Coronavirus. I said no and then told her she may want to think about asking that first.....
no one in the building (including doctors and nurses) was wearing a mask. At least not that we saw. But again it was a lower risk building- not one sick people would typically be going to- so that may have been part of it.

Intel from another platform:

I have a friend in the USA who has friends who are doctors working in the Coronavirus ICU in Wuhan. (5 Feb 2020)

Here are the facts:

The number of reported cases (20k to 25k) is the number of people admitted to hospitals. It is NOT the number of people infected. The number of people infected is at least 10 times higher.
It costs $100,000 to save a patient.
Treatment involves breathing assistance equipment and antibiotics against respiratory infection.
A 12 day stay in hospital is not unusual.
Hospitals are currently overwhelmed and are turning people away.
It is completely unknown how many people are infected because, of people who are not admitted to hospital, few are ever tested.

China adds new symptoms to coronavirus diagnostic list

In an updated treatment plan released on Wednesday, the commission also warned that it was investigating whether aerosol and digestive tract infections were transmission modes after traces of the coronavirus were found in patients’ faeces.

The commission added respiratory problems to the list of symptoms for suspected cases. It also expanded the classifications for coronavirus patients from three to four, adding a category for “light” cases.
Those in the “light” category and who exhibit mild symptoms
such as fever, fatigue, cough or breathing issues but no lung infection must be quarantined and treated to curb the spread of the disease,
which has spread to more than 20 countries since the virus was first detected in China about a month ago.

[snip]

“Some patients show mild symptoms but they are still infectious … that is why we have added the ‘light’ category in this edition of the guidelines,” Li Xingwang, from the commission’s expert panel, said.

“The number of suspected cases might increase because of this but if we can find these cases with atypical symptoms earlier, it will help control the spread of the virus.”

Russian scientists believe America created the Wuhan coronavirus to sabotage China

2nd February 2020 -(Russia) Acccording to William Ebbs, several Russian scientists believe America created the Wuhan coronavirus to sabotage China in order to make tonnes of money by subsequently coming up with an antidote or vaccine.

Russian media sources suggest the novel disease, provisionally known as 2019-nCoV, could be an American made bio-weapon designed to sabotage China. The claims have had significant airtime on mainstream Russian media and could be part of Vladimir Putin’s efforts to discredit U.S interests in the region.

“The Chinese believe the coronavirus is created by the Americans,” the popular Komsomolskaya Pravda reported, citing as proof that the virus was “genetically shaped in the American laboratories,” the claim that “all the infected are Asians!” and there are “no Europeans.”

Russia’s oldest state-owned news agency, RIA Novosti, reported, “The spread of coronavirus might have been a sabotage, the expert [Nikulin] thinks.”

Comment: When I see stuff like this out of China, then I will have to consider that the CCP has lost the war against nCoV and is looking to retaliate against someone/anyone.

Hey Nawty! Long time no talk.

Certainly see Russia/China looking for a scapegoat here. But from the sounds of it, the bug was stolen from Canada and tracked to a shipment to a Military Facility in Wuhan. Which incidentally is less than 20 miles from the first case.

I read about this weeks ago but the first read pop on a google search was ZH.

Am I wrong here? Was this disproven?

I'd be surprised if you haven't seen that vid before. It's of what appears to be a security guard stationed in front of a bunch of monitors.

He's about ready to look at his lap top but suddenly has a seizure. He appears to arch his back and then falls back down on the chair he's sitting on. He tumbles onto the floor with the laptop falling with him.

He makes a strange sounding "yeowwww."

As he is lies on the ground, he starts seizure-like shaking for several seconds. Then he becomes still. Dead?

It's like a scene out of a horror movie.

The outbreak was first reported on December 31, but no children younger than 15 years old had been diagnosed as of January 22. A study in the New England Journal of Medicine said at the time that "children might be less likely to become infected or, if infected, may show milder symptoms" than adults.

Since then, doctors have recorded a few one-off cases among children: a 9-month-old girl in Beijing, a child in Germany whose father was diagnosed with the virus first, and a child in Shenzhen, China, who was infected but displayed no symptoms.

On Wednesday, Chinese authorities confirmed that an infant in Wuhan, China, had tested positive for the virus 30 hours after being born; the baby's mother is a coronavirus patient.

But for the most part, kids do not seem very vulnerable to the virus.

"From everything that we've seen, and for reasons that are unclear to us, it does seem that this is primarily impacting adults," Richard Martinello, an associate
