Quoting: Anonymous Coward 59160298 "US, NATO, EU countries combined real, annual GDP is 37 trillion." -That's about 30 contries right.. 37T$ ÷ 30 = 1.2 trillion per coutry "BRICS combined real, annual GDP is 17 trillion." -BRICS are 5 countries.. 17T$ ÷ 5 = 3.4 trillion per country "Russia's mighty contribution to global GDP ... 2 trillion. lmao, again." - Maybe Russia dosent have a realy high GDP as Murika but at least it dosent have a 17 TRILLIONS $ AND GROWING EVERY F*CKING DAY DEPT... just waiting for the day China stops lending them money.. then we'll all see how powerfull and mighty the real USA realy is... Its not (only) about money. Consider: Arms constructions costs a *lot* less (in monetary value basis) in Russia. Most of the design offices and manufacturing base from the USSR-era is still state-controlled either directly or indirectly. When the Americans build a boomer they count the cost in billions of $ (offc it doesn't really matter since they own the press but there is only so much you can print before inflation). When the Ruskies build a boomer they just have to do the logistics to shift steel/titanium production output that way. And by looking at the map, I guess they have a lot of steel available. And my sources tell me that the Ruskies have seen it coming for a decade, and are being actively preparing for it. Although not ready (yet), they surely won't get caught with their pants down. Ppl are talking about a possible escalation on the border to Russia. US especially seems to have an ich for it. That, or they really planned the destabilization of Ukraine without a plan B in case Tsar Puttin kicks. Russia traditionally had issues projecting power globally, but as others have found out its a tough nut inhouse. Logistics are on their side, and the have sufficient raw materials to hold a hot conflict for years if need be. And they probably have most of the soviet-era hardware still stashed-away as a backup. Ppl also talking about the possibility to swiftly wipe-out the Russians with the super-duper hightech/scalar/kinetic/etc weapons. 1st, we are talking about superpowers. None in GLP can know what black projects each side has in the closet. And I sure hope we don't find out. 2nd, if any side corners the other the field commanders will be hard-pressed *not* to use tactical nukes. And a bit after that, escalation after escalation, we have ICBMs flying both ways. Ugly. 3rd, dead hand systems make sure that both sides will be annihilated if it comes to that. Unfortunately, there seems to be a line of thinking in US that maybe they could pull a surprise attack on Russia and survive to brag about it... In any case, a possible hot war with Russia will completely destabilize the EU economy, and by extension the global economy. US banks will not be standing the day Deutschebank will collapse under the derivatives weight. And that will seriously hinder the capability of the west to wage war, for the Ruskies it will be mostly an annoyance. In a case like that, most of the EU population (especially North) will gladly volunteer to a draft in the hope that at least there will be something to eat. So, having a Doomgasm when ppl both sides are getting maimed in Ukraine is fine as long it doesn't really get hot. If it gets hot, it has the potential to be very hot, and although the extinction of our kind will be rather good for the rest of the species, I doubt the biosphere will survive such a major conflict if they decide to give it a go. I also like the overall message you've given. I noticed your reference to the Fed printing money ... US dollar is fine, it isn't going anywhere, anytime soon. Feds tapering appears to be doing exactly what we predicted via modeling. So much ill-informed bullshit about the dollar health, don't believe it. Well, I sincerely hope (unfortunately I'm not convinced)for the good health of the petro-dollar,because currently its what makes the global cogs of commerce/industry spinning and puts food on the west's table. Although neo-capitalism/globalization has its fine share of problems and has caused a lot of pain, currently I see no immediate viable alternative. At least not with the current economic model that demands constant growth, and not for as long as the West insists on consuming the way it does now. Euro *could* be an alternative, in maybe.. 30 years or so. And that if EU manages to become a real union/state, which is difficult with so much bad blood between members. Personally I'm not convinced that a world reserve currency governed by Russia/BRICS and/or China would be really better for the rest of the World. I guess it remains to be seen if the PTB have good intentions and just want a (mostly) fair sharing of resources.. lol. It will definitely be for the worst for the West, since with such a power shift consumption/markets/production and access to resources will be severely limited. If it somehow happens (and it seems like some are working on this direction) it will probably mark the end of an era, and will end the US/NATO status of global erm... "empire" is the term? And usually, when the empires go, they go with a bang, and a time of chaos comes until the world finds a new balance (and a new emperor). I'm convinced that US will do anything to protect the petro-dollar and its status as a world reserve currency. Its the logical thing to do, and beyond the PTB interests its also the patriotic thing to do for the well-being of its citizens. But I'm deeply worried of the consequences when some major players question (and with reason in my view) this status. Ppl that wish/cheer the fall of evil US/dollar/NATO should think twice about the ensuing cost and the power that will emerge in the power vacuum later. Once again, I agree with nearly everything you wrote. Few random comments, from me though. Sanctions, trade wars, currency wars, from my POV, are races to the bottom, last one wins. Trying to wage a currency war against the worlds currency reserve holder is suicide. Best way for Putin to 'beat' US, is to pry a country away from OPEC and have it drop the dollar. If that happens, I pack my bug-out bag. |

Trying to wage a currency war against the worlds currency reserve holder is suicide. Best way for Putin to 'beat' US, is to pry a country away from OPEC and have it drop the dollar. If that happens, I pack my bug-out bag. Absolutely. If that happens I have my bag ready too. Russians can't hope to win a currency war with USA. But they haven't shown their hand in middle east yet. And FSB traditionally had a long reach in ME, which is by definition unstable anyway. Its a power struggle and although dissolving OPEC is a wet dream for them, US still offers security guaranties for friends and capability for global power projection for anyone that doesn't stand in the line. I feel sorry for the Camel herders there who were unfortunate enough to have oil under the sand. And btw, having similar thoughts for my country because we are unfortunate enough to have the Aegean also leaking oil all around. My view is that the West will probably open a second front (maybe in Armenia/Georgia?) to up the cost, and have bargain chips for Ukraine. This can become dangerous cause it seems that for many reasons Russians don't adjust their immediate tactic response to a 0 cost/gain equation but go for the long-term goals. Maybe playing Risk with chess players ain't a good idea. I'm not into US politics, but my view is that US politicians/analysts respected their opponent and managed to contain the beast (USSR) for a long time, and finally beat it. For the later US leadership I doubt it has similar capabilities. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 62775673 BRICS combined real, annual GDP is 17 trillion. Russia's mighty contribution to global GDP ... 2 trillion. lmao, again. There are a number of problems with that calculation. An obvious example is that a slice of the US GDP is the profit that the US government makes on lending money to itself. Yes, you read that right. A bigger problem to that equation: all financial products are included into the calculation. meaning the deriviatives and the deriviatives of deriviatives of any commodities are counted towards gdp. to illustrate: take a $1mm block of physical oil/ iron ore/ housing mortgage ; create a few futures contract from that worthing $5mm ; then write a few options on the futures thereby inflating that by another 10-20 fold. There you go, from the $1mm asset somebody just created $50mm to add to GDP, basically out of think air, and this is only the most basic form of number manipulations. By taking this step, the European Union has made its choice against a peaceful settlement of the internal crisis in Ukraine, which all responsible forces in Europe should have supported instead. It has patterned itself after every dictator who has ever planted the ripping imprint of a boot on the pages of history since the beginning of time. It has refinements, technological advances, and a more sophisticated approach to the destruction of human freedom. But like every one of the super-states that preceded it, it has one iron rule: logic is an enemy and truth is a menace." - "The Obsolete Man" - The Twilight Zone, 1961 __________________________________________________________________________ "I assure you, ladies and gentlemen that, very soon history will show that we and our allies have fought a war on behalf of the whole world against terrorism supported by governments that will be held accountable by its own people..." Quoting Dostoyevsky: "Rest assured, hell is big enough for all. It doesn't deserve this fierce competition over who will be the worst." - Dr. Bashar Jaafari, UNSC session, 22nd of February, 2018 [link to youtu.be (secure)] __________________________________________________________________________ [link to www.godlikeproductions.com] |
