Hello everyone! Glad to hear that the holiday went well for most (sorry for the problem, CS. Moms can be that way, sometimes. Mine certainly has here moments!) I had a great Thanksgiving, which was a welcome relief after the last month or so. I've been on here a few times to read & catch up, but I'm WAAAYYY behind again.
Short synopsis:
Grandson is clean except for a couple of times smoking pot.
Fiancee is doing hard drugs again, and living with people we know - they call it "the compound" - it's a horrible drug haven.
My great-granddaughter Sadie is now under legal guardianship of the 2 grandmas and 2 great-grandmas, with us 2 'greats' doing most of the care-giving since the grandmas work. I love to take care of her, but I'm way too old to do this for very long. It wears me out!
Some real good signs with grandson - he has been a real help when I have Sadie. He's just not ready to have full custody.
Fiancee asked the judge to order her into inpatient treatment. He did so. She has until 11/30 to get admitted. Or face arrest for contempt of court.
Grandson and fiancee have about 6 months to get themselves cleaned up and ready to be parents. Their judge is a hard-nose, so they can't skip by.
My Mom is having some real health issues - she has had CHF for many years, but now her meds aren't working. Her feet were really swollen when we were at her house for Thanksgiving. We all cooked food & brought it there, so we could spend the holiday with her. I got really concerned when she showed me her ankle. It was bruised really badly (she is a free bleeder), but it split open during the night and she doesn't know how it happened. She goes to the doctor next week, so I'm anxious to know what they will do. She's 87, and is having more & more issues. I'm afraid she's going downhill pretty fast.
Simple, you & Ryan will be in my prayers Monday. I've known several people who have had that procedure. Some of them were fairly advanced in age, and did very well. We will just believe that Ryan will too!!! I'm glad you caught the low potassium problem and got treatment. It can definitely be dangerous. Please take good care of yourself!!!!!
It's been great to catch up on the rest of you guys! I hope everyone is doing well. Stay warm, if you're in the cold areas. And watch out for the traffic and crazies - the shopping season is upon us! I'll be doing most of my shopping online, as well. I just don't like the crowds! (That's my Bah! Humbug! side...)
Love to all of you! It's good to get back to some sanity, coming here. Oh yes, I did quit my job - and 2 days later had the baby for nearly 2 weeks!!! God has a plan that we often don't see....
