Got a bit better map. Looks like this is over by Gillette WY. That's coal mine country. Likely it will be discounted and attributed to the mines.

That would make sense but a 4.3? Seems a little high for mining.

It's easy if you still have your old laptop...

What browser are you using? Most browsers should allow you to export all bookmarks into an XML file, then you can import it into the new browser on your new laptop.

If you add the WY quake, that is 4 quakes in 3 days of 4.5 or higher.

Depends how close the seismograph is to the explosion (if it was an explosion). If it's relativity close, the 'shaking' will initially appear to be of large magnitude, however after interpretation, which includes viewing of a few more seismographs in the area, the magnitude will be downgraded or removed completely. This is due to the seismographs farther away barely showing a blip or nothing at all.

Same reason you'll see some seismographs in YNP, for example, show readings off the charts, but none of the nearby seismographs show the same large magnitude readings. Something nearby the seismograph triggered a reading but it wasn't large enough to transmit to the other seismographs in the area.

Say for example a herd of bison walk past, a tree gets knocked over in the wind, or an avalanche occurs close to an individual seismograph, that will trigger the seismograph and the magnitude may appear very large, as the machines are extremely sensitive, but the other nearby seismographs will show nothing.

An aside: I've been bowling almost 4 days in a row this weekend. Working on improving my footwork and game. And I will be going bowling with my coach again tomorrow morning.

I am adapting to my new ball quickly - and my scores are finally returning. I bowled 155, 111, 140 yesterday. Not very impressive from a general bowling scores standpoint but my scores have been significantly lower than that for the past 2 weeks. So I am happy I am adapting to the new style...*and* new ball.

I am looking forward to breaking the 200 barrier. ;)

If you go to ANF you can look at the individual stations here in the states. Here's a link to one in Casper. You have to click on waveforms in the tabs to get to the seismograph. It does show the recent one.

edit to add... shows up clear across South Dakota at this station too !

Oh look, some Doom News from the Pacific Northwest.

[link to www.komonews.com]
JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. (AP) - One hundred soldiers returning from West Africa landed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord and will be held in isolation as part of a 21-day Ebola monitoring program.

-I think I herd them land early this morning. Assuming they were on C-17 cargo jets. It was even cold and foggy. Oh, spooky. But really, the constant rumbling of several jets woke me up about 7am. Haven't hard any plans rumbling about since a day or two before Christmas. Had gotten used to not hearing Air Force and Army choppers for several days.

Oh some beans pics. First on is about half done, last one all done.
