We've been bundled in house since yesterdays' winds whipped us into icicles. Wind chill hit -18. Not the -24 they were calling for but close enough. Forecast tonight is -2...haven't heard the windchill factor. Can't be good, but at least we don't have the wind we had last night. Gotta go out to the local grocer later and get some bread. I WOULD have to run out of it last night...ugh. It'll probably be packed. sigh To know where your heart is, look where your mind goes when it wanders.

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68059497 Even if you don't have babies. It never hurts to have a box or two of baby wipes... But really, we don't need a shower every day. Bathing every day, is really a new concept to us humans. It started in the 50's. With that said, if you NEED shower or bath, then you do. I always say, if you don't sweat for more then 30 straight minutes, then you don't need to bathe. But you shouldn't go more then 3 days without. On the 4th day, take a shower or bath, even if you don't need it. I always bathe every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday. And every other Saturday. Even if I don't need too. With that said, I'm not an animal. If i stink or something bad happens, like I fall in a mud pit, or drunkenly spill food all over my shirtless body, well then I bathe. There could be 2-3 inches or 2-3 feet just as easily. This is a very difficult area to forecast, one of the hardest in the USA due to the Rockies on the west side and the Great Plains on the east side. From about Colorado Springs clear up to Montana, we all have the same forecast problems, Up-slope and Down-sloping winds. Also, for me personally where I live, if a low sets up in the NE corner of CO we can seen big time snows but it has to be set up just perfectly. 50 miles in any direction changes the whole storm and totals. The storm we have coming in, is part of the big arctic blast that is hitting most of the US, but we are only getting a slight brushing of it. None of those nasty cold temps!!! |

If the jetstream pushes the Canadian front even a little south, we get hammered hard with snow. But, if the front from the Gulf is stronger, we get icy rain. Neither is welcome. The storms coming solely from the west are even harder to predict because of the convergence mark. It's like the yellow brick road...you never know what's coming until it actually gets here.
