It takes the sun more or less four weeks to spin on its axis. We are now at 12 days with no sunspots. [
link to spaceweather.com] When the Sun went blank that represents 14 days. Add 12 and we are one or two days short of a totally blank Sun for the first time this solar minimum. Moreover,
(1) There has been no activity reported on the far side of the Sun
(2) If there were flaring on the eastern limb (representing the last one or two days) we could see it by now
(3) The last two known sunspots disappeared while still Earth facing
The solar wind is at 411 km/s as of this writing and has been steadily dropping. There is an inverse relationship between the solar wind and galactic cosmic rays (GCR). Also as of this writing, GCRs at the Oulu Cosmic Ray Station (Finland) [
link to cosmicrays.oulu.fi (secure)] just crossed the 6600 line. They are steadily increasing.
There is another solar wind headed our way, but under these general conditions you can expect extreme rain events and earthquakes to be increasing over the coming weeks. In the electromagnetic universe, earthquakes are a kind of underground lightning, and as with above ground lightning, they are caused by cosmic rays (either a high level of GCR or a dramatic and sudden increase in cosmic rays from the Sun, such as the recent spat of X flares that resulted in the Mexico earthquake).
This is actually a very interesting time for people who are paying attention. I would not be surprised to see an increase in all sorts of extreme weather over the coming weeks, including tornadoes.

You most certainly can expect more earthquakes in the coming weeks. There is no doubt about that whatsoever.
