Hey Deano, You getting some good rain up there? It just wont stop here. pouring cats and dogs... just curious for the extended PNW..
Quoting: 4thhorseman Yes! Going on about 6 hours of flat out pouring. Actually been picking up the lat 2 hours. It's kinda windy too. Not like windstorm windy, but enough for an occasional gust to make the house creek and pop. I'd say a few gusts up to about 20 25ish mph. But really this time of year, that's just a strong breeze. I actually haven't watched weather since the 11 pm news Thursday night. A big storm could be blowing in for all I know. I hope it's decent for the Big Game at noon. Light rain is ok, our Hawks can handle that. But gusty winds would be no good. Quoting: deanoZXT Hello to all you cool people!!! Kunda checking in after a far too long absence :) been raining here for most of the evening as well deano (20 or so mi north of you). Been having tons of fun with my ham radios - [ link to imgur.com] Quoting: kundalinichi I am curious, do Muslims use Ham radios? Quoting: bigD111 Interesting question! (unless you were making a play on words with the ham part, in that case, it totally "whooshed" me there for a few minutes) I asked a few friends with more experience - I have been a ham for less than a year, but I have spoke on HF to Iran, India, and several other muslim-occupied countries, although ham radio is about enjoying ham radio, not pushing political, societal, or religious beliefs, so even if I had, they probably would not have told me :) oh, && thanks simple :) Last Edited by kundalinichi on 01/18/2015 02:23 PM |

Over 65,000 people in the dark as windstorm powers through region [ link to www.komonews.com] -Late last night a few of you were asking if it was raining hard around the Seattle area. Well the storm didn't stating until about 11pm. Around the region people woke up to scenes like this. I know I woke up a few times to the rain just pounding the roof. The usually doesn't wake me up. The winds were over by about 6am. But the power did go off. The clock raido in the spare room was flashing, trash bin, recycle bin and yard waste bin lids blew open. I keep then close together about a foot from the house. A screen blew off on the living room window. Ii honestly don't know how that happened. Still breezy, but not bad. I think it might even get partly sunny by afternoon. Kinda bummed it was a stronger storm then foretasted. I would have stayed up to enjoy it. Only less then an hour before the big game! Quoting: CuriousSeeker Doing good. Already drinking beers. I don't want too, but it's the big game. Seahawks are home and when then win, off to the Superbowl. Making a big pot of spaghetti in a bit. Nothing fancy, just a big jar of sauce, with a fresh diced onion, about 7 garlic cloves and some ground beef tossed in. Then I'll just let it simmer for about an hour and boil some thin spaghetti. I'd normally do better. But I haven't been to the grocery Since earlier last week. to my delight there is already a spaghetti smiley out there-Everything's more awesome when you lean into it. |
