We are all good, thanks!

My eldest is getting married soon so we are ramping up to that shindig. Between that and my wonderful wife's classes this term we aren't having much time to do any puzzles. :(
 Quoting: mistersplinter

Congrats to your son! That wedding is something exciting to look forward to. It's hard to believe the age difference in your kids!
 Quoting: KickinIt

13 years between the oldest and the youngest..

The first two came from my ill-fated first marriage (God rest her soul) and the youngest is from my second (and last) marriage.
 Quoting: mistersplinter

I did know the older ones had a different mom, but I had no idea your first wife had passed. That's sad, your older kids are still too young to have lost their mother already :( I'm pretty sure you and I are very close in age, and although it's hard for me to imagine having a kid later in life as you did, I can see some advantages to having kids far apart. My parents did as well. My siblings are 8 and 10 years older. My parents both always worked, and it was almost like having 2nd parents because my sister in particular was always watching me and taking me places. They still treat me in a parental way. Whenever we visit each other, they literally won't let me pay for anything! But I guess no matter how old we all get, we still look at each other and think of each other with the same dynamics. They are the "responsible" older kids, and I'm the "baby".
 Quoting: KickinIt

Funny... my older ones don't do that. They just treat him like he's forever a little kid and it drives him batty...lol.
Yes, definitely too young for the death of their mother...my daughter wasn't even in high school yet. They didn't witness first hand the tragedy that is lung cancer because they were both down here with me...my ex hit 30 years old and genuinely lost her mind. I know everyone says that the ex is crazy, but I actually had papers to prove it.

They are all doing pretty good now...especially my daughter.

That's kinda what I meant - my siblings still think of me as a little kid too. That's why they insist on paying for everything! But it's fine, like I said, family dynamics tend to stay in play. Once the baby, always the baby. Once the oldest responsible kid, always that way.

That's a tragedy about your ex. But your kids turned out fine because they had such an awesome, supportive dad (and eventually a great step mom). Glad you found such happiness in your 2nd marriage!

chuckle I laugh, but it WOULD be fun. MoN and I are unfortunate early risers, but we'll take advantage in this situation and make y'all breakfast burritos while you slumber.
