@WeatherNation Snow is flying in Montana this morning, as our next winter storm is moving through the region! video [ link to twitter.com (secure)] Winter has arrived in BigD's part of the world. Quoting: joinca Oh geez, poor Big D. It's a total washout here today, cold and rainy. 100% chance of rain through 10pm. I'm supposed to go to an annual halloween block party tonight at my friends' place. I've gone for the past 10 years or so since they moved there, and this is the first year we've had rain like this the day of the party. They just texted me and said they have a few tents and heaters set up and they are going to brave it but start mid afternoon vs. early evening. I think starting early/ending early is probably the only way to go in this kind of rain. Can't even have the obligatory bonfire in this shit. |

Last night about 10:30 the wind kicked up a bunch, maybe 60or 70 mph, for about 10 minutes, then it started to rain, don't know when it turned to snow. The white bellbirds have two song types, said the researchers. The first is relatively common and can reach around 116 decibels. (Normal human conversation, by way of comparison, clocks in at about 60 decibels.)The second song, which males emit when females are around, reached levels of around 125 decibels.
How loud is that? Standing beside a siren clocks in at 120 decibels. Biologist Jeff Podos at the University of Massachusetts, lead author of the study, said the songs are so deafening they reach decibel levels equal to the loudest human instruments, like the hammering of a pile driver. Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated*5.3 Mid-Indian Ridge*5.2 Mid-Indian Ridge ~ Pg 20449 Sim, sweetie. In the circumstances you are in, this is the best and most logical outcome, even though I think 5 weeks is even short in your situation. You need rest, a break from all of it. Next to the pain, your burn out level is really dangerous and as your dear friend worries me a lot. And I am talking from an experienced view. I have seen what it does to people. So back to the Baby Steps Program (BSP) and the celery use. You were even the big initiator of that, remember? You motivated people with it. Things will be alright again. Trust me. But listen to your body and mind. And know that weed or gums do not solve everything. At best they mask, which I know is necessary as well. I hope you don't see this as lecturing. I care a lot for you. You are precious to your family, friends and so many others, so be precious to yourself as well. All the rest is less important for now. Even though I never get the US system about being sick and not getting paid (it feels like being punished for being sick, while working your ass of for a company), financially solutions will be found as well. You have rode higher waves in the past. So accept this time out as a sign that something needs to happen to turn this around. At your age, with so much life and future ahead of you, you need positivism and strength back. This is a step. A good step. I am relieved the doctor saw that too. You won't lose your job. You are a key assets to them. If there is one thing they will hopefully learn now, is that they now see how much work you do and what it means if you are not around. So also in that respect this is a test for them. Their problem, so don't even think of working from home in the meantime. Make your stubborn ass listen to your body. I mean that. And that Screemfest sounds awesome. I would love to experience that! Have fun with Mini and Nef. It will be a great break! And forget blood pressure for the night.. Much love sweetheart. You'll get there! My utmost positive thoughts and prayers for your recovery. Always! Quoting: InterMezzo Thank you for your kind words Mezzo. I never take them as lecturing and know they always come from your heart. And they're always encouraging. It's funny how well you know me though, because I was considering offering to work from home during this absence. But Nef said no way and I myself quickly realized that would defeat the purpose of this needed break. : ) ~*Ride the Wave*~ |
