Well, I did it lol. I'm such a sap.

We're gonna love her back to health and give her a real family. : )

There's a lot of work involved. She isn't exactly healthy nor is she from a loving home.

Challenge accepted.

Due to her health condition, the shelter technically still owns her and we are her temp care. This makes it so the shelter is responsible for her medical care treatment until it's finished (medical costs) and we are responsible for administering any home meds, getting her to her vet appointments, following her strict minimal exercise routine, etc.

She's sweet and very timid. I haven't heard her bark once, and that includes the 3 days in a row I visited her at the shelter.

It appears she was used as a baby maker. She's only a year old and the shelter believes she has had 3 litters of pups. : (

She came from a 'kill' shelter in Georgia to a local 'no-kill' shelter here. It's very obvious that she just had a litter of pups recently.

The above pics were taken today at her vet. We brought her there to get her meds before bringing her home.

She's very quiet and calm. Likes to be by the back door which is in the kitchen. Hopefully she will transition to the living room, but we aren't forcing anything on her. She needs to get comfortable here and if that's her current happy place, well she can hang out there.

She has a long road before she can be brought on long walks or brought outside to play. Hopefully by May/June she will be in better shape. So far she is responding well to her treatment and everything in general.

I hope we can help her and make her feel loved. <3

People suck!! Using her as a breed dog then dropping her off at a shelter. So cold hearted. Hope she has a quick recovery. She is a cutie!

She may not know it yet but she has a good life ahead of her!

I rescued my pup from a shelter. He was in an abusive home - chained up to a tree most his life. It took a while for him to become rehabilitated - but hes the most loyal, friendly loving dog now. Trust isnt gained - its earned.

Whats her name?

Wow! Such a sweet face on that dog. In that 2nd pic you can see the sadness in her eyes (or is that just me?) No wonder you brought her home Sim.

I remember when my mom got a French Bulldoggy, Babs. Also solely lived to breed in that kennel, less than one year old. I fkn hate that. I even got mad at the guy of that kennel for saying: "You got a great breeding dog there, she can make you a lot of money." The idiot! Mom just wanted her for company and to give her a good home. And a good life she had, seeing her grow, be happy and always so very playful. Babs that is. Mom was all that too, but that's another story..

I am sure she will have the best of homes with you and you'll see that she's going to feel comfortable and loved in no time. And strenght will come back with that.

Enjoy her Moon Girl. And now the million dollar question: "What the heck is her name??" tounge

As far as I can see, there have still been none as of this evening, and there didn't seem to be any foreshocks either. This is worrisome. Isn't the area where yesterday's quake happened a subduction zone? Seems to be reminiscent of Japan in March 2011.

Absolutely!

I was just reading through her papers and the shelter in Georgia had her as 2-3 years old. This local shelter says 1 year old (estimated).

Poor girl, no one even knew her age. : (

People do suck.

So she might be a little older than 1. And that's okay.

Since the Georgia shelter (and I assume they named her), her name has been Blissy. I figure we should keep it. It may be the only familiar thing she knows.

The Georgia shelter called her a bulldog mix. Local shelter called her a lab mix lol.

I can see some bulldog in her. I def see pit too, or possibly staffordshire terrier.

We'll never really know. But she's cute. And super sweet.

I'm sure you have now seen that her name is Blissy. It came with her. : )

That first pic was actually a lucky shot, where she looked happy (almost smiling lol). She mostly has that sad/lost look going on, which breaks my heart. And exactly...how could I NOT bring her home and try to love her and make her a happy dog again? Or for the first time?

My mini has my heart. She fell in love with this dog and couldn't not have her. Lol, if it wasn't for cost, we'd have the whole shelter here right now hahaha!!!

And said she hopes our locks work on the bedroom doors when the dog is trying to eat our faces!

oops2

She sees nothing but pitbull when she looks at her. :\

I don't blame her I suppose, as I too said I never would have gotten her if I had a baby in the house.

She's little though, I could take her if she ever acted up (the dog). tounge

Simple with that photo you are off to a good start with her! I walk my Blue healer twice a day 5 days a week. Each time is about 2.5 miles. she is for the most part off the leash walking around a large subdivision but when she sees someone she looks and then comes back to me and I put her leash on. Other people that see this are amazed. I don't have to say much and she freezes and on the leash goes. Loving her is the best way but I am sure that you know that.

Frost Quakes Likely the Culprit Behind Mysterious Booms in Indiana

Loud booms and quakes have been startling residents across central Indiana, prompting numerous phone calls to local officials who suggest the disturbance stems from “frost quakes” brought on by cold weather.

A frost quake is a rare weather occurrence that happens when temperatures fall to cold extremes, causing water in the ground to freeze. As that underground ice expands, it causes the soil and rock to crack, which produces the booms and shaking similar to an earthquake.

That makes me happy! : )

I'm so nervous because of her heart worm. I'd be devastated if we lost her so quickly. That's why we have to keep a calm environment for her and she can only go outside on a leash, do her business and come right back in. For now. It will become more flexible as the months go on, but she won't be able to be her full self for another 5-ish months.

Your dog sounds very well-trained. Kudos to you! hf

I remember hearing of these (rarely) over the recent years.

Have you heard/felt any?

If you mean the Peru quake, I noticed the same. Not the same spot as the big one, but it was close so I counted it :)

"Might" have heard/felt one the last arctic snap we had. There was a muffled boom/heavy thud sound that shook the windows and floor. I thought maybe a water pipe burst and went looking all over the house but found nothing.
