I'm so glad you are the type of person who is open and willing to try that for her. And that it has helped her! Quoting: Simple27 I have always believe in more alternative medicines than big pharmaceuticals. So many of them are pure poison to the human body. Much good comes from them too but before I take anything prescribed for myself or my family, it is researched until I honestly believe it is worth the risk. You have to be your own advocate because doctors are one person seeing 1,000's of people. They are not personally invested in your well being. Only you are. You have to know as much as possible about whatever conditions, diseases or problems you have. You have to be able to go into your appointments knowing what they know so you can carry on a conversation. Otherwise, they just don't care. Give them this quick fix pill and be done with it. Push them out and see the next one. Cattle call. Just numbers. Natural medicines take longer and are typically not for acute problems, rather chronic. They are better for you as it uses the whole plant instead of just taking a chemical out of the plant and mixing it with stuff that is bad for you and turning it into an easy to swallow pill. Ooops.....that is one of my hot buttons |

Beautiful day here, hope you're having the same. Still in the midst of this damn move. The final move will be this friday. A friend helped me for most of the day yesterday taking a couple carloads of boxes over. Got some bad news last night (not worth getting into), then had trouble sleeping. Mostly due to the move - mind racing about all the things I have to do - but the bad news didn't help either. Probably slept 5 hours at best. Finally got up at 6:30 because I was so anxious. Yes, anxious like many of you. But for me it's because I'm in crunch time now and freaking out about all the things I still need to do before the movers come on Friday a.m. - and I am working this week through thursday. Had some coffee and started busting ass at 8am. Did not stop for more than a couple 5 minute breaks until 10 minutes ago. Put in an 8 hour day! Again! I cannot begin to put into words how utterly exhausted I am. Prepping for this move has been going on for months, including a huge purge of stuff before all the packing started. And other than my friends who have helped me start moving some things these past few weekends, I've done it all by myself. I honestly don't know if I've ever been this spent. Will be so glad to get it over with next week. Of course, then there's unpacking, but as long as I can get the essentials settled, I can take my time with that if need be. Sorry for the rant! Especially with the more serious things many of you have going on. I'm emotional because I'm so damn tired. |

Hopefully 6.0 was the biggest of the bunch and Chile AC will be safe. However, as noted by SW there are some foreshock-like similarities.
Couple of points:
a) In 2016-10-27 a shallow 6.0 hit, followed only by a 4.2. On 2012-04-17 6.7 hit and only one 5.0 followed. Compared to similar events this latest 6.0 differ by sheer number of quakes (10 4+ as of this post). It should also be noted, that 4.9 and 4.5 hit before the 6.0. This is dangerous, because it implies 6.0 is actually part of the sequence.
therefore
b) If further 5.5+ occur, then I would be worried of a 7+ hitting. Also multiple further 5+ qualify also as foreshocks.
c) The other 6+ which have hit Valparaiso last few years, have been aftershocks of 8+ in Chile elsewhere (8.3 in september 2015) and (8.8 in february 2010). This time there were nothing to cause the uptick.
and finally
d) Some history on Valparaiso quakes which had precursors: As we can see, usually the quakes are impulsive and do not have any foreshocks, could only find these two examples with foreshock activity.
1965-03-22 6.2 Coquimbo, Chile 1985-03-03 5.5 Valparaiso, Chile 1965-03-28 7.4 Valparaiso, Chile 1985-03-03 8.0 Valparaiso, Chile
Next 48hours will tell a lot... have a bug out bag ready AC Chile if any further 5.5 occur. The amount of quakes is highly unusual for Valparaiso.
-Finland

You're right, it's definitely because I'm exhausted. I always have heightened emotions when I'm super tired. Tomorrow is a new day, I just have to take it one day at a time and do what I can. I did get a shit ton done today, and a few friends offered to come over one night this week if I want help with last minute things. I will see how it goes. I appreciate you.

Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated*5.3 Mid-Indian Ridge*5.2 Mid-Indian Ridge ~ Pg 20449 Hey all, just checking in. Quoting: KickinIt Girl, I totally hear you and your exhaustion is justified! Moving absolutely SUCKS! Every last part of it, and even as you said, after the move is complete, the UNpacking commences. Sending you positive vibes my friend! I'd help you out if I was local. : ) Quoting: Simple27 Moving does suck gigantic ass. It's been 16-17 years since I moved. I have said out loud probably 15 times during this that I will not do it again - I will die in this next house. This has just been excruciating. BUT, I have pared down and gotten rid of a lot, so that feels good. Although I still feel I have too much stuff. I think the longer you live somewhere, the more taxing the move once you do it. |
