That would be so very nice. To travel again and visit friends. Been way too long. Open borders now! Happy Friday sweetheart. Love you! Quoting: InterMezzo You know I'm dying to come back to the Netherlands some day. I love it there so much, everything about it. And this time I have a friend to visit! One day it'll happen. Quoting: KickinIt I am sure that one day that will happen again my dear. Plenty years ahead of us. And it will be great to see you. But we need to avoid the coffee shops. I heard stories about you visiting Amsterdam. People still talk about it here! |

Quoting: Simple27 Booooooo to DST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quoting: WhiteAngel We need to stay on DST. And boo to switching!!!!! Winter sucks no matter which time it is. Quoting: CleverCreator We had ours last week. I don't mind it much, but I will never understand why we have to do it at 3 am. One hour more sleep they say, but is that really true? You have to get up at 3 am and before you get back to sleep, it probably will be 3.30 am. Which means, IF you're lucky at most 30 minutes extra sleep. And in Spring repeat it the other way around, again at 3 am, losing one hour sleep because of the clock going forward and 30 minutes again for interrupted sleep. So what did we gain? Nothing! In fact, add both interruptions together and we even lose sleep all in all: - 90 minutes Spring + 30 minutes Fall = -60 minutes in total. I discussed it in the Jukebox last night and our dear Drinking Buddy from the Jukebox told me that you could in fact do it any time. I said: "You can?? Isn't that cheating time? I mean.. wouldn't that be too easy? If everyone would determine for themselves when and at what time, it would be chaos with appointments and such for example.
Plus you could be tempted to do it every week just to get an extra hour of sleep. And before you know it, you find yourself in a 7 hour difference. It must be me."She said that since time is a human construct, theoretically we could cheat on time. So I am going to try that out in the coming days. Visit my sister coming Wednesday at 2.45 am for a coffee, just to test her reaction. A rolling pin might get involved, but I'll take the risk.. |

Quoting: Isis One Oh wow Isis. Hope it wasn't too serious. Things like that are always so very bloody. Maybe a dry vessel in your nose that popped. Keep an eye on it if it happens again go ask the doctor. |

I love that stuff. Of course I am from NM and that was all there was. We'd get two 50lb burlap bags, take it home, roast, peel and freeze it. Many times we ran out before the new batch was out.
Quoting: WhiteAngel As you know hatch chiles have such a short season, and I just happened upon them at the grocery. It's not something you would usually find here without looking for it. Bought a bunch and did exactly what you mentioned - roast/peel/freeze. Then I went to the grocery again the following week and saw there were some left! So I bought another round. I've been using them here and there in different things. I always make chicken tortilla soup at some point every fall/winter, but the batch I just made really turned out well and I question if it's because of the chiles! |

Within two weeks contractor had cold water in bathroom and toilet back online. Spent two grand at the Hampton Inn, grrr. About four weeks after that the wall was rebuilt and I finally had hot water and could stop showering at friend’s houses.
Two more weeks outside trench was back-filled and then concrete was poured. 8-9 weeks total. Not bad all in all. I’m glad it’s over. The shoulder recovery is going slow. No matter how much rehab I do it’s still limited and achey. See specialist Monday, I’ll see what she says. Proteolytic enzymes help. Supposedly they dissolve scar tissue.
Quoting: Isis One Thanks for mentioning the enzymes, I'm going to look into that further, perhaps that would help my shoulder. Hope you get some insight from the specialist Monday! |
