A bunch of new cells popped up, all have vortex signature. Scroll down to see. I don't know your exact location in MA. That would help me a lot.

This is BAD!!!

Hang in there, it's a fast moving storm. Lot's of moisture in those clouds. I am sure the lightening is intense, but on a good note, it doesn't appear to be rotating (no mesocyclone). It should blow through quickly, dump it's moisture and be over with. No signature of tornado right now.

The thunder is so intense that I can FEEL it vibrating the house! And the lightning strike that just hit was like nothing I've EVER seen!!

I want to record this SO bad!!

I've been in storms like that before. I wish I was there now. Lightening storms are awe inspiring to me. If that was my way to go, so be it. The best view I ever had was on my motorcycle trying to get back to town, before the storm hit. That didn't work so well, I got stuck right in the middle, lightening was hitting within 300 yards of me on both sides. Were it not for the 60 MPH gusts of cross wind blowing my bike all over the road I would have enjoyed the show a lot more and probably would have been able to hear the thunder. Ultimately had to stop due to hail (tends to sting the forehead a little at highway speeds) and hunker down house just off the road.
 Quoting: Sol Neman

They amaze me too! My friend kept saying come on, let's get in the basement! Lol, I was just like "not yet, I've gotta see this!"

Only once did I run to the basement due to a storm. I actually posted on this thread about it and posted a video that I took before I fled! Ha!!

You're okay for now, you'll have a reprieve for a bit. But there is another group of cells heading in your general direction. They're just east of Worcester right now. I guessing that's a ways from you, so hopefully they'll expend their energy long before they get to you.

All clear, just a little moisture now. The cells east of you have dumped their energy.

Be glad you're not in central Pennsylvania or Maine on the coast, appears they are getting hammered.

It stopped pouring and the winds did calm down. Still lightning, but no thunder.

My mom is in NH at their campground right now...without my dad because he had to work. It's pretty much on the MA border so it sounds like she's safe. Thank God! And thank you!

Only once have I run to basement. It was a storm on father's day 2010. In 15 minutes we went from clear blue skies to all hell breaking loose. I was on my balcony, and the clouds rolled in. Started to rain, then pea sized hail started coming down in less than a minute, in a matter of a couple minutes, at most, it had grown to golf all size. I quickly ran out front and covered the sunroof on my pickup, again hail to the head hurts, about 5 minutes later the hail was baseball to softball size. The wind was blowing so hard that my front door warped a bit and rain came pouring in, it was at that time we ran downstairs.

That's the only time my dog has ever listened to me that well! Told him to come here, quite loudly, and he was on my heals instantly. Another 5 minutes passed. The noise from the hail was so intense, my wife and I had to yell to hear each other and we were sitting next to each other.

Between gusts of wind, we heard the air raid sirens, there was a tornado on the ground about a mile from us. First one in 50 years. Then it all just stopped. Started at 4 PM, by 4:15 we had blue skies again. 8 inches of rain were dumped in that time period, there was water 2 feet deep on some streets downtown (Billings, MT). It ended up being an EF2 tornado, destroyed half a dozen buildings. The hail caused the most damage though. 1000's of houses needed new siding and shingles. My pickup ended up with 6k in damage, but luckily the sunroof didn't shatter. Had that happened the it would have been totaled. I have since moved from Billings, and I am glad we did. They had another hail storm blow through this year and all the houses that had replaced siding and shingles had to do it again.
