I'm actually going to visit him for the first time next year i can't wait! But he recently has told me some concerning news. He is a huge weather/volcano/earthquake nerd, just as i am and keeps tabs on everything happening. He told me that Mt. Hakone which is very close to Fuji has been having significantly higher activity than usual. He along with many locals in the Yokohama/Tokyo area that he knows and talks to believe that Fuji will erupt within a decade or 2. He also mentioned how many in the area think the 9.0 Fukushima earthquake was a precursor, and that they are still anticipating the real, "big one". He already has a bug out bag and told me the current mandatory evacuation plan, if Fuji would blow would be close to 1.5 million souls. Shit scares the crap out of me. |
